Created your own server, or want to join another Valheim server? If you’re unable to join a server because of the “Incompatible Version” error; either you or the server are out of date. This video shows you all you need to do to update your game, the server on Steam as well as the server on SteamCMD (If you used that). By the end, you should be able to play your game as normal.

How do you close your server safely? is it ok to just x it out? I cant seem to type in my server to stop it like a minecraft server.
Just updated the server then opened it then reinstalled the game after not seeing an update and it still says the game is incompatible =/. Thanks for the videos so far its been a big help.
