Friday Night Funkin’ is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn’t approve of him. It’s up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin’ is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. Doki Doki Literature Club! (DDLC) is a 2017 freeware visual novel developed by American independent game studio Team Salvato for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. The game was initially distributed through itch.io, and later became available on Steam. The story is told from the perspective of a high school student who reluctantly joins the school’s literature club on the insistence of his best friend from his childhood, and is given the option to woo three of its four female members. Doki Doki Literature Club! features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. Although the game initially appears to be a lighthearted dating simulator, it is in fact a psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.

The game was developed in an estimated two-year period by a team led by Dan Salvato, previously known for his modding work as part of Project M. According to Salvato, the inspiration for the game came from his mixed feelings toward anime and a fascination for surreal and unsettling experiences. Upon its release, Doki Doki Literature Club! received positive critical attention for its successful use of horror elements and unconventional nature within the visual novel genre. The game also inspired internet memes and achieved a large following online.

  23. The start of the Nightmare Mode training happened firstly with Natsuki. As her mentor, Sans just made it look like light work, when really it was a lot difficult than it looked. On the outside, Natsuki clearly assumed Sans was just simply focusing enough to unlock Nightmare Mode, but in Sans' eyes, it was a whole lot more complicated than that. Nightmare Modes aren't simply given on a silver platter. After Sans finished putting the pressure on Natsuki in his Nightmare Mode (Orig. Bad Time), now it was her turn to pull it off.

    N. Sans: Alright. You managed to pull through against the speed and power of this crazed mode.

    Natsuki: Managed!? I couldn't even make heads or tails on what you did! And those attacks, how am I supposed to pull off that mode!?

    N. Sans: As we explained before, Nightmare Mode is complicated. You gotta find your own way in unlocking it. I'm just giving you a taste on how to handle it efficiently even without the fancy mode.

    Natsuki: You're supposed to be teaching me to unlock that mode right away! Even all that mumbo jumbo didn't work to bring it out, you lazybones!!

    Monika: [Walked over to see the progress] Um… Natsuki, take it easy on Sans. It's just his interpretation on training you.

    N. Sans: Eh. I kinda said before, I ain't a teacher. You want teaching? Find a bald guy with a green shirt who is a math fanatic.

    Natsuki: [Her eye twitched from the lazy skeleton's wisecrackings]

    Monika: [Looked through the progress of Nightmare Mode in her administration panel, she then noticed Natsuki's negative traits were lowering gradually even without Monika doing anything, she started to worry.] H-Hey, Natsuki. It's okay. You can keep trying. He might simply be testing you or something, you don't know what he really plans for this training session.

    N. Sans: Heh. I can see a tsundere's furious expression when I see one. But you wanted to gain this power and I provided as much help as I could. At this point, you can't really "baka" out. [INSERT TRADEMARK PUN SHRUG]

    Natsuki: AGH!!! THAT'S IT! I'm sick of this bonehead giving me such a hard time! Every single time I'm with him, it's always either puns, laziness or just pure wisecracking annoyance!

    Monika: [Looked at the admin panel, noticed it beginning to glitch pink on her negative traits] N-Natsuki, calm down…!

    Natsuki: SHUT IT, MONIKA! There's only so much I can take before I really had enough! Now Sans has pushed that limit too far way too many times! If he doesn't stop with these stupid funny guy acts and cool guy teasings, I'll make him unlock the nightmare mode for me the hard way! YOU!! LITTLE!!! BAKA!!!

    [Monika's administration panel glitched pink and changed Natsuki's stats differently. The multiverse symbol appeared and overlayed over Natsuki's stats. She looked over at Natsuki to see her entire body becoming a dark shadow with pink energy surrounding her. Her head then lit on fire, her neck had a ring of pure energy, and she had a furious look on her. Even the surrounding area was surrounded in pink flames]

    N. Sans: Heheh… you're welcome, Natsuki.

    N. Natsuki: What the!? [She looked at herself] How did you–?!

    N. Sans: It wasn't hard to know for a fact your own negative traits are what unlocks your Nightmare Mode. You obviously get too easily flustered or defensive, hell even retaliate on someone when you're backed in a corner.

    Monika: So… So you were…

    N. Sans: Yup. I was purposely annoying her just to mess with her negative traits the right way.

    N. Natsuki: [She crossed her arms and still had a furious look.] Hmph! I'm still upset at you for pushing me too far, and don't think you'll be left off easy because once I beat you, then we consider it even!

    N. Sans: Hold it. Are you really going to try your luck against me when you had just got your form unlocked? Didn't I say once you unlock it, you have to test it with Monika?

    Monika: Oh! Right, it's because I'm the only one that can control the clubs' traits. I need to make sure the Nightmare Mode is stable.

    N. Natsuki: [She stared intensly at Monika] Fine! Be ready, Monika! I won't go easy on you, not after what bonehead had put me through!

    Monika: Ehehe… oh dear.

    Natsuki's training was one massive… rollercoaster to say the least. Sans testing her in handling against his Nightmare Mode, him mocking and making puns to aggrivate Natsuki to a certain breaking point, then her finally achieving the mode out of pure tsundere rage. Now that she has achieved it, Monika must now test against N. Natsuki in order to maintain her stability in the Nightmare Mode, and it definitely will not look like N. Natsuki is going to hide any tricks.

    Better if you added ..

    – Demon horns to represent her personality
    – Scarier eyes
    – maybe make the poses change a bit instead of being an edited version
