The unused cutscene was… not most likely removed in my opinion. Maybe some characters might changed in that cutscene.

The new stalker icon is just hornier
that first cutscene was/is probably gonna be for Nova's ex. As she is the one shown at the end. And also just explaining what happened after the first week.
