  1. Still play the Ghost In The Shell game. Great music and great intermissions. Since it was made by the Jumping Flash team it controls pretty well. Only some jumping parts on the last level are bothering. It's fairly short once you memorize it but there are a bunch of unlockables if you do all the training missions. The PS2 GITS by Cavia and the PSP game were both decent as well. Pity there aren't more games based on the franchise.

  2. Legend of Legaia is undoubtedly one of the best RPGs on the PS1, I highly recommend anyone who enjoys older JRPGS to give it a go. Its one of my all time favourites, and the battle system has never been used since (apart from in it's somewhat disappointing
sequel). The closest battle system is probably Xenogears, at least in terms of the combo system.
Anyone who shouts out Legend of Legaia gets a sub from me.

  3. Man there's always one or two (in this case more) games that I'd never heard to mention or never pay attention to that definitely deserve to be played.
Thanks for all the recomendations! πŸ™‚

My only regrets is that the Hard Edge (one of those that I didn't know it existed) is not available for the PSVITA (psp) which is the platform where I use to play this games πŸ˜›

  4. I was about to mention the super fun but hard Ghost In The Shell haha! Four more forgotten games worth playing:
    – Colony Wars Red Sun (space combat, uncanny graphics for the PS1).
    – In Cold Blood (kind of a spionage game with Parasite Eve 1/Resident Evil mechanics. Not a perfect game by any stretch, but definitely worth trying).
    – Rollcage Stage 2 (heart pumping combat racing, amazing graphics and lightning/particle effects).
    – Psychic Force (port of a Taito arcade fighting game. Not the best fighter, but innovative and flashy).

  5. I kinda hate videos like this because I just know when I go to look some of these up on eBay in a minute or two, I'm going to come face to face with some absolutely ridiculous, eye-watering price gouging. I don't know why the retro market has gotten so out of control in the past year-and-a-half or so, but it sucks big-time. The worst part? I distinctly remember seeing copies of Dragon Valor suggested to me on eBay when I went to buy other games and they were going for, like, $10-15. Let's see the damage now….

HOLY SHIT. $140 for Dragon Valor CIB (US Region)? Get bent you fucking psychopaths! I hope no one pays that kind of price. These people do not need to be emboldened… *checks SOLD ITEMS FUCK! May 28th, someone actually bought a copy for $140!! God dammit!

People love to complain about the assholes scalping Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles now (and rightfully so), but there seem to be plenty of these greedy assholes throwing off the prices of retro games too. A–holes have really weaseled their way into every facet of gaming at the moment, I guess. I can't wait until this bullshit dies down and retro game prices go back to normal.

  7. Ah, yes…
That time when you climb a mountain while feeling almighty for beating just about everybody in the game, only for Lapis to give you your just desserts for being arrogant in Legend of Legaia.

Don't know why the game Loaded doesn't get any love… In the early days of the PS1, it was the closest thing to a Contra game in 3D (and it that regard much more competent thant what we actually got from Konami). The sequel sucked, but the original long box game made my entire week when I first got it. A friend of mine who didn't have a memory card played it as much as he could, then turn off just the TV, sleep some then continue playing until he completed it. That's how much he liked it.

I believe that along with the game names, the region (or WW if worldwide released) of the game's release or alternate names could be helpful for people trying to get a physical copy. Something like: "Hard Edge/T.R.A.G. JPN/USA"

  10. Really wish we could get an improved spiritual sequel/re-imagining of Dragon Valor. More then just the 3 different lines with a few more generations each, more character interactions, etc.

  11. Why do you say "PH" when it's "TH" like in three or aesthetic? i've heard a lot of people doing this for the past couple of years and i don't understand the motifs behind it.
