Oh man, I didnt think anything could be more terrifying then .exe and majin merged together, but then rewrite showed up
I think I found some extra meaning in Rewrite saying "this cliche never dies." He's already self aware and has some access to your mind, so perhaps he knows he's one of millions of Sonic creepypasta characters. We also see this earlier in the song, since (to my belief) he's taking the forms of Sonic.exe, Majin, and Lord X, three iconic creepypasta Sonics. Perhaps he's trying to use that knowledge to his advantage, giving the player more of what they want (Songs against Sonic.exe and other iconic creepypasta Sonics) so he can invade their mind easier.

Hate to Be the One that points out Stuff, But Rewrite is actually talking to the PLAYER Instead of Boyfriend. Saying Lines like “Boyfriend is Nothing for me”, “You’re the one I’m looking For”, And “Through the screen i can See more.”
