In this video. New Nikon Lenses coming in 2021-2022 AND.. the thebig ol elephant in the room…..

Is Nikon in trouble? Is it game over? What is up with all these youtubers today trashing Nikon and saying it is over? Well I thought I would give you my take on all the madness trending today on youtube about the future & if there is even a future for Nikon cameras and lenses.

I woke up today and realized a grip of new videos about Nikon and the company and at the same token read an article and news piece about new lenses set to be released in a years time. 20 new Z lenses in the nikon lens roadmap? I decided to make a video of my thoughts about this today and here it is.

Is Nikon late in the game for mirrorless and lenses? Why has Nikon’s Z lens lineup been lagging and slow in production? Why is there only 1 super fast prime AF lens to date for the Nikon Z6ii or Nikon Z7ii? Is this cause for concern? In this video I will give you my thoughts on this and more.

Will the up and coming Nikon Z9 and Nikon Z30 make an impact on the professional camera market share or the consumer camera market share for that matter? Will the Nikon Z9 save the day?

Everything I have mentioned above I say WHO CARES and here is why,,, in this video today.

I want to thank everyone who has subscribed to Vahagraphy. Please share the video with all your photographer friends and let us grow and expand. Be sure to hot the like button. It helps with the youtube stuff. 🙂

  1. Hi! I have been using Nikon system since 1980's .. There one of the Best, and lasted for me for decades. Excellent lenses, & product for me good pictures & memories. Kudos to Nikon.. !!

  2. I understand what you are saying, but as the value of the company goes down the demand for those cameras goes down as well (may the the other way around…anyways) and which means selling out our current gear to invest into a new system becomes that much harder. As a photographer ( as a business ), lenses and other gears which lasts for years is considered as an investment. I know I love using Nikon gear, the easy to use the confidence of using a durable product and the RAW files, the Z lenses. I have used Canon R5 and Sony A7iii, Riii and event the A9ii ( A9ii is just magical ) even though I know how these systems perform and tracking AF is leaps ahead of Nikon, I still Love the Nikon Z mount lenses and the Z system. Tough choice to invest into Nikon system, But I am doing it anyway.

  3. The reality is that no company is safe. Remember back in 2010 when everyone in finance was using a Blackberry. People said that they weren't going anywhere. 5 years later and they'd practically lost their entire market share. Nikon probably will leave the camera market, as will Panasonic – but doesn't mean that there won't be a huge selection of great lenses to buy on the used market. Nor will your current camera stop working.

  4. It does matter what people are saying as it will effect sales. If I was starting out today with no camera – I'd really have to think hard about investing in Nikon. There is a real chance they won't be around in 10 years time.
Its been around for 100 years – but that was with technology that is old. Its firmly in third position and really seems to be struggling to innovate. There has been no class leading camera from them in years.

  5. I believe some of Nikon being in financial trouble is because so many people watch Youtube nowadays and when word spreads that autofocus or dynamic range isn't as good on a particular Nikon camera as it is on a Sony that word even if it's utter rubbish can have a devastating impact on a company with regards to profits. Youtube is a place which can ruin a company because even people who hate Nikon because it's Nikon, no other reason can spread lies like a virus and that virus can kill companies. People should, instead of badmouthing Nikon, contact Nikon and give Nikon ideas about what's good or bad about their cameras because a company can only get better if customers give the companies feedback about their products. Nikon received feedback about the Z series autofocus and Nikon got up and worked hard to make it better and they have done. So anyone badmouthing Nikon, why don't you contact Nikon and tell them about problems instead of making Youtube videos badmouthing them? IF and I say IF Nikon does go bust I hope Sony buy them out and carry on the Nikon name because Nikon dying as a company would be the saddest news to ever hit the world of photography in my opinion. But, if Nikon keep going like they've been going with their Z series cameras the company should be fine. Their Z-mount lenses are absolutely brilliant image quality, their Z cameras have low noise, excellent resolution, excellent quality viewfinders, now with the latest firmware have excellent autofocus and with the FTZ adapter people who can only just afford to buy a Z camera can buy the FTZ adapter and use F-mount lenses which are cheaper than Z-mount lenses. So overall I say stop badmouthing Nikon, if you've used their cameras and don't like them contact Nikon and tell them why, if you haven't used the cameras shut up because you have no valid reason for badmouthing Nikon.

  6. Youtubers and various garbage websites like PetaPixel decided that that hobby photographers should care about the market share of camera brands, and which brand is currently "winning" because they released certain specs, and whether these specs actually make any difference in real world became secondary. Then sites like xxx brand rumor blog popped up and people started to put themselves into camera brand tribes. I like Nikon just like you, but at the end of the day it's just a camera, and if they go the Kodak or Minolta route, I'll find something different, or continue to use Nikon and buy from second hand. The good thing is you can use Nikon pro DSLRs for over 10 years without any issues, maybe even longer. People are now conditioned to buy the latest and greatest every 2 years, and they're unhappy that their latest Sony is not the greatest anymore a year after release, because Sony has a new toy out with xx spec bump and whatever magical lion nut sack AF.

  7. Thank you! Loving my Nikon Z6ii, the image quality and the lenses are UFFFFF fire! I don't see myself with any other camera brand. Life is good, them spec hungry people can keep buying super expensive cameras and comparing specs if they want, we are fine over here. Rock and Roll!

  8. I have been using Nikon for 62 years. I can see no reason to change or be concerned. The other brands are good also. It is NOT the camera that makes you a good photographer.

  9. Totally agree, I'm a sport photographer and general family photographer in East Central Florida. Have been using Nikon for years and have some $$$$ Nikon lens. I don't pay attention to social media "experts" who make videos from their mom's house. Most can't afford a point and shoot from Kmart. I'll bet they don't own a Sony A1 or have an order in to Adorama for one. Nikon is a company who's business is 75% in other technology besides cameras. They make machines that make the chips and sensors. Enjoy photography, life will go on. Well maybe not in this country……..
