GAME SINS | Everything Wrong With Hitman Absolution

Stealth games from the early 2010’s like Hitman Absolution and Splinter Cell Conviction have given me some of the worst writer’s block I’ve ever faced, not because they lack sins but because their plots lacked any creativity or interest. If you want them, here are the sins of Hitman Absolution.

  1. The best part is that 47 has flashbacks of when he “killed” Diana throughout the story to show how he’s disturbed by what he’s done even though he knows she’s not dead 😂

  2. I feel bad this game is the black sheep of Hitman, it was my first one and I loved it enough to be interested when Hitman 2016 came out and it led me to playing Blood Money and Contracts.

  3. Even though I love this game, there is a big sin that annoys me at points and that's Victoria's outfit. When she's kidnapped by Lenny at the orphanage, she's wearing those pyjamas though when we next see her in the Doctor's Lab, she's back in her school uniform that should've been still at the Orphanage and I doubt the Hope Idiots, I like to call them would be smart enough to pick up said clothes.

Plus I can answer that sin about why The Agency employs The Saints. It's mentioned right at the beginning, after Diana purged the old Agency exposing all agents… Travis reformed the Agency focusing away of what the Agency used to be like. It seemed after 47, the Agency's scalpel; turned sides, Travis wanted a Hammer's take on the organisation. Taking violence and brutality to a whole new level where stealth is old hat and inadequate and explosions are the new course of the day.

  4. Technically police do arrive at a fire, or any kind of emergency. The fire could be arson. They’re supposed to make sure the scene is “safe” enough for other first responders.

  5. Not the best story, but it had some great kills, and some good mechanics that the WoA trilogy would later adapt. I liked how dark and depraved Absolution was. Hitman Contracts had the Meat King's Party, and Blood Money had a Christmas-themed Playboy Bash. Trust me, the bdsm and sexy nuns aren't all that out of place

  6. Easily top three most disappointing games to me as a giant Blood Money fan… I am glad they got back to what made the series great.

The game looked good, but had basically two decent levels.

  7. This is the kid at school who tells the teacher she forgot to assign homework comeback and make everyone do it again because the teacher messed up one of the questions

  8. "Diana doesn't seem to understand this whole going rogue thing… she has to know that this is the exact kind of situation 47 has infiltrated around a hundred times or more by now."

… duh? Did you miss the part 30 seconds ago where Diana makes it expressly clear, both to Victoria and to the player, that she knows 47 is coming? She wants him to. That's the point.

You got pretty much everything else right, though.

  9. Trying to make a man who sounds like a psychopath with every word coming out of his mouth look like the good guy really doesn’t work.

Absolution was the first Hitman I played and I liked it but now… eww

  10. You should've added 1000 sins at the start over Square Enix's stupidity with this game.

Rewatch the original e3 debut and you'll hear that they originally had a new voice actor for Agent 47. The backlash was so intense, that when Square saw borderline zero pre-orders for the game, they scrambled at the 11th hour to have the original voice actor do all off the lines a month before the game shipped.
