One question I get a lot about Genshin Impact is whether or not it’s too late to jump into it, because it launched four months ago as a live service offering with non-stop events and additions. I explore that question my video today.

Yes give your informations to china
at the end of the day, this is a PvE game. the only hard thing if you start late is possibly missing out on some material or not being able to play with your higher ranked friend
Not too late because the characters you missed out will come back again and there are a new characters looking insane in the future
I somehow completely missed the release of this game. But came across it in late December. I've now been playing very regularly for 1 month. At no point have I felt left behind or that I missed out. As a new player now you do get fewer' wishes' than those starting out at release but it's no big deal. Gameplay is great, game looks awesome, the story is good. Defo recommended.
is it ever too late to start a single player game?
never its too late but you already lost a lot for not playing it.
Good to know. When coming late to a game like this, one needs to ask if you're going to be too far behind to ever catch up.
Nah
One thing I believe forgot to mention is that it's cross platform meaning u can play it on PS4 PC Switch and Mobile. The game is in fact FREE to DL and is F2P unless u are P2W. It has a co op playable mechanic once u reach AR 16 and can play with Friends and others on any platform and around the world.
Resin can screw itself, but the base game is solid. As for me, I'll be doing my best to optimize the two teams I settled on. Oh and if you plan on spending, set aside a balance for entertainment use.
Short answer yes. Long answer no.
It's honestly never too late to start playing any game, unless it is a MMO or live service game that is shutting down. IMO, people who say it is too late to start just don't want to put any effort into learning a new game.
As someone who just started playing Genshin Impact last month, you absolutely can catch up with everyone else. The game is not competitive. You get a good deal of great open world exploration and a pretty good story so far at absolutely zero cost. The only cost is whether or not you want to roll for characters in the wish system, but the game also gives you a good chunk of currency to use there too. You can play this F2P without ever spending a dime and that is to this game's credit. While I'm not fond of gacha systems and loot boxes in general, Genshin Impact is probably one of the better games for F2P.
The only thing you really missed out on are events and limited character banners, which will probably rerun at some point in the future.
Don’t listen too much to those videos talking about character tier lists. You pick a team with characters you enjoy playing as. Remember it’s a PvE game, so just have fun with it.
If you started early.
There were events that gave out resources, free wishes, free characters, and a free 4* weapon.
You would have more talent ascension materials from weekly bosses.
If you start late
-Your adventure rank progression would be faster than the people that started the game. The more regions they release, then the easier the progression for new players.
Pros: Great F2P game. You do not need to spend money since you are not competing with anyone. You can beat the story and domains for free. You only need to play 20 minutes a day to make meaningful progress (Daily commissions and using your resin). If you get the welkin moon($5) and battle pass ($10) you get more resources for your characters, and you get the best value for wishing. Also, the new regions are free.
Cons: Once you have completed most of the quests and chests, the game will turn into just daily commissions and using your resin (20 mins a day) until events or regions are released.
Artifact grind is RNG heavy. Crafting weapons is limited since prototype drops are rare from weekly bosses. Without the battle pass, you need to be very conservative with upgrading characters. A lot of good 4* weapons are locked behind wishing. The spiral abyss floors 9-12 is very difficult, do not feel pressured to complete it since the rewards aren't that great. As long as you can beat the story, you're fine.
I hope they make the progression for new players in the future very quick. Like making the amount of adventure exp needed to reach ar 1-40/45 half or even a fifth. It's gonna take so long for them to catch yp to us ar 45+ players
It's never too late to start a game. One thing I learn from open world games is that it's up to you if want to play it for your enjoyment or not.
There is no too late even the limited time banners will have reruns. Also mihoyo will add more features catered to drawing in new players after the game ages.
For a perspective of storyline and gameplay it's free
If you are free to play you missed a lot of free stuffs.
Hey, great vid, but one little aspect, it actually is crossplay between pc and ps4. Im playing it with my friends and they're on pc and I'm on Ps4
There's new characters that would make old character obsolete. So even if you missed one you'll get another later
Ps4 players can play with pc and mobile, there is crossplay.
Its not too late
its never too late
Advantage of New player we your senpai already provide u with tons of information . while us old player start with no info much and make so many mistake . 🥴 u miss some old event reward and Char banner but tht okay bcoz In the future u will get better event reward .. and old character banner rerun . Also this is more like single player game u can co op but most of the time u single play so no reason for being competitve or worry u will get left behind .. u can just play this game with your own pace .
I think the problem for new players is less missing out on characters and more missing out on events
crown of insight has come 3 time through events only and is needed to max talents
also the free weapon from the dragonspine event
those are a bigger deal than characters which will probably cycle back around eventually
You didn't go for Ganyu? Big mistake 😉
Hey man, much love
It's a single player game, albeit with some multiplayer capability, so it's never too late to start the game. In fact, I argue that late comers have the advantage of having more native game content to chew through before exhausting and need to wait for new events and regions to drop. Late comers also have the advantage of knowing the play styles of all existing characters.
The downsides are of course you'd had missed out on event free goodies and primogems that were given over the course of the game, and from the resources standpoint, you are starting from square 1.
Your intros keep getting more animated and epic.
I played a shit ton but I had to miss out on a month since I had to send my PS4 for repairs. I missed the Fischl event but getting Zhongli was a nice consolation. I really wanted Klee though. I got every banner character except her and Venti so it’s not like I missed too much.
Welp, If by any chance a newbie read this, unfortunately, YOU MISSED the CUTE PETS, if you just started 🤣 how unlucky
As he said, you aren't in a competition here. You won't have PVP, the domains unlock with your world level but what you get on your own world level is always perfect for the place you are, the story has some level restrictions, yes, but A) you can reach said levels without problem and B) story quest are always available, you can only miss side stories from limited events previous to when you started but they have new events every update (every 40 days) and those don't afect the main story, plus they ask you a really low level to play them so if you start today you only need 2 to 3 days playing casualy to play the new event story. And the game is fun but never too dificult (except spiral abyss but that's the point there) so you can clear almost all the content with the free characters they gave you and you won't end playing only the free characters, I've been playing since the first month and I have 5 5 star characters and almost all 4 star (and some 4 star are better that the 5 star, so they are not inferior once you invest a little time on them) and I hadn't spent a cent 'till literally yesterday, so it's not pay to win. Come, have fun, we have waifus, husbandos and a lot of flashy attacks.
No it's not too late that game is far from being complete
I start 4 day ago. My friend introduce the game to me. Rank 26. 1st 10 draw received Mona which 5 star character. 2st 10 draw get the xinyan and ice hair guy (forget name) chu… 3st 10 draw weapon. Because I need upgrade my weapon. 4st 10 draw received 4 star character shield similar Geo. 5st 10 draw received this new update keqing and another 4 star character idk what name it blind sword. Never too late to join and have fun play it.
Main reason why i want to start again is network issues (region lock)
