Fun fact: Xiao never smiles even when you aquire him in your party. There is one time Xiao smiles though, and that is when Venti is around him. There is a nice little detail of Xiao smiling when you play CO-OP with another Venti. I find it hilarious how he acts cold and tough towards everybody, even his boss Rex Lapis but he actually has a little secret crush on Venti😂
I think theres a story quest you missed called 'dainsleif' from Katheryn in Mondstadt, try talking to her cause that quest is quite important lore-wise
i really recomend is noelle she hit like a truck and heal like a maiden overall good character
