There's something I wish to clarify when it comes to this.
Everyone is in the comments about how these two are lovers at this point.
Right now, Mei and Kiana are technically "just friends", but everyone who has played the game can tell you how there is extreme levels of sexual and romantic tension between them. This, however, has never been approached in-game or story.
The only one that goes out of their way to state that the two love each other is Kiana, while Mei doesn't say much.
Meanwhile, in the background, literally everyone, fandom and the main cast included, are screaming at them to just bang.
They actually aren’t sisters at all. It’s more of a romantic thing actually
Just a little in depth details on Kiana and Mei's relationship:
This might be considered a spoiler idk but if you don't like spoilers then don't read this
Mei is that super pretty and popular girl in the class. She was also nicknamed "Queen of Thunder". But something happened and her father(CEO of ME Corp) was exposed to an economic fraud and was sent to jail. This incident had a great impact on Mei and the people who once surrounded her and admired her now gives cold-eyes towards her. Even her "closest friends" are now distancing themselves from her.
As a lost girl, she has stood on the shackles of the crowd and now suffers from various forms of discrimination.
After trying to muster all kinds of human feelings, Mei learned to be more sensitive and delicate to see the people around her. She still maintains the restraint as a noble lady. The more she is discriminated against, the more she has to build a shell to protect herself. Tears remain in the corners that no one sees. Inevitably, the cold-hearted view of Mei on the world also bred hatred deep inside. After her father’s incident, Mei no longer participated in any club activities after school. She found herself a corner that was undisturbed, and the ME Institute was sealed up.
It was the place where her father worked day and night before the incident, and that Mei felt that she felt the closest to her father.
She also hopes to find the clues to what happened before her father's incident. She faintly feels that her father was framed.
Unfortunately, after the institute was seized, from disk to paper, any possible information has been destroyed. Until one day, in the empty uninhabited research institute, Mei suddenly found a suspicious object. The man left a strange box. Driven by curiosity, Mei had an opportunity to change her destiny and the destiny of the whole world.
The 3rd Herrscher was triggered at the same time that Mei opened the door of fate. Mei became the Herrscher of Thunder, causing a massacre after being taken over by her Herrscher persona. Soon after, her underclassmen named Kiana Kaslana fought the 3rd Herrscher and saved Mei. Despite her suicide attempt after being freed, she was caught by Kiana(this was shown in the video).
Kiana has been the light that saved Mei. Everyone else turned their backs on her and abandoned her. But this girl who she never met before, accepted her as a whole.
And as we can see on the animation, Kiana is using her powers to save the world because it is her "duty". She doesn't care even if she dies as long as everyone else are safe. Mei on the other hand, used her powers to stop Kiana because the both of them knew that if Kiana were to keep on using it, it won't be long before she dies of Honkai corruption. Just like she said, the entire world could go f*ck itself because all she needs is Kiana.

What people look over though is this. Mei fully embraced her Herrscher powers. Kiana is fighting Sirin (her Herrscher side) to prevent Befall (Sirin taking control) from happening again, and Mei at once.
Kiana: "I'll save the world!"
Mei: Tries to kill her to save her (I don't like that logic. Mei went from being useless to being negative helpful.)
I'm looking forward to when Kiana can fully use her power.

Sadly Kiana is Paimon and Paimon is the Herrscher of the Void that you guys call the Unknown Goddess. Still waiting for the next update of the Honkai Impact 3 Storyline. I don't like how Kiana ended up trying to destroy Humanity in Genshin.
In my opinion Honkai Impact Chatacters are way stronger than the Genshin's Characters because it is most likely thanks to Honkai Impact world filled with Honkai Beasts due to the Honkai Corruption(After the first Corruption, another one comes and again. The fact that Kiana is in Genshin Impact, made me think that the Honkai World is over) which lead the Honkai Impact World to ruins with 3 Factions fighting against the Honkai while striving to finish their own goals.
