Perhaps not completely flawless… but almost! Tapping into the backwards compatibility features of PlayStation 5, the new 1.35 patch for God of War allows users to run the game flat-out at 60 frames per second. And it is, to put it frankly, epic. So how does the new patch compare to the game running on legacy PlayStation systems… and what about the gold master 1.0 disc code which *already* unlocked the frame-rate? Rich investigates.

  1. Be nice if Ghost of Tsushima and Last of us 2 had patches. They should have had them day one not just an unlocked frame rate. Probably try to rerelease the games and charge for them

  2. Thanks for the video. It's a bit misleading, because the game has huge problems on Pro performance mode at the lake. Dropping to 20 fps and adding insult to the injury of the excessive noise. Santa Monica failed us there. At least now it's an easy solution to go purchase a PS5… oh wait.

  3. Basically, all games from PlayStation Studios and Xbox Studios portfolio should have this kind of upgrades from the day-one for next gen hardware especially when we have lack of new games.

  4. PC versions for the series please just like Horizon! I want to do a replay of the series and even though I still have all my copies from PS2, PSP, PS3 and of course the masterpiece of 2018 on PS4 I just don't want to play at these low framerates anymore and in the case of the classics that painful 720p or lower resolution.

  5. Honestly, this game for some reason made me… Motion sick, I guess? It's like a combination of claustrophobia and motion sickness or something…

I had the same with PS3 Last of Us, I think it's this annoying shoulder camera angle that does that… But funnily enough PS4 Last of Us didn't give me that just because it was 60 fps.

  6. I’m not a fan of 60fps in all cases. Can anyone tell me if the PS5 patch included a 4K 30fps mode? For me—or at least, for now as I don’t have a PS5–I think the super fluid nature of 60fps God Of War potentially lightens the gameplay’s intended feel: Kratos the brute slinging an axe at a giant should feel heavy and rugged. Does anyone else feel that way? I like higher frames it in shooters and Nintendo titles, strangely…
