  1. Why not just dig around the spawn deep enough with the pickaxe that the brutes and shaman get trapped. Come back every so often and train on the captured. I get the whole having the fire to kill them while your away but it doesnt really help the player grow his skills at all

  2. you could likely double or even triple the efficiency of this design if you copy the killing area atleast 2 times, so there are 3 killing chambers, or even 4 chambers.

right now you only get one greydwarf spawn every cycle, but if you were to add additional chambers you could fill up the spawner mob cap each spawning cycle, and have multiple greydwarfs burning at the same time.

If iron gate plays it smart, they will not try and "fix" these mechanics as to completely eradicate auto farms, i personally think good ideas and clever use of game mechanics should be rewarded and not punished. just take a look at minecraft, having the freedom to play the game in whatever way you like really helped it become the legendary icon that it is today.

  3. You could probably lengthen the trench so you can spawn more than 3 dwarves at a time. Also, do the palisades deal damage at the top? If they do, maybe we could use those to damage them too.

  4. Why would one wanna farm Greys ??
There’s isn’t that much item that need their eyes. Plus the seeds is only used for the boss.

Unless you have so many resin lights that the constant grey encounters won’t give u enough resin to sustain them.

  5. i'm using 2 star wolves to kill them for me, the wolves will die eventualy but i just need to keep breeding the wolves, the brazier probably will get patched too soon or later.

  6. Next patch: Ok guys, so you like to auto farm? so we will fix it permanentely, this time spawner will auto damage it self after it spawn a mob, so it will only spawn a limited number, gg izi.

  7. Also because they require ground to spawn on, you don’t need all that stone around the back and sides, just wood floor panels. You’d still need stone walls on the chamber side for them to spawn but they don’t spawn on wood. Idk about stone tiles, but I when I was making my pit stuff and but wood floors down they couldn’t spawn.

  8. Have you done any testing for mob spawn rules outside of the spawners? Was thinking if I trapped some like you did there I could mine in peace for more than a few seconds. 😀 Though I have been curious about how spawns work. Can ones in the wild just keep spawning and spawning or is there a limit? How far away do they spawn from the player?

For example, I swore that trolls only spawned in the black forest but somehow one ended up being found in an area that we hadn't gone to in a meadow, that was pretty far from the black forest. Was surprised to find one there and… a bit paranoid about one showing up at my base before I'm ready. LOL

Though mainly interested in the general spawning mechanics. I suppose when I start looking at the code if I write a mod I'll understand the mechanics a lot more.

Another topic I'm interested in is how does more players impact the difficulty? I've read that more players make the game more difficult but how does that work? Is it number of mobs in the area, level of mobs, types of mobs, etc? What happens if I'm by myself in an area and someone walks into that area, does it instantly go up in difficulty for the area or is it for the entire server? Or the opposite, if it's local to the area what happens when a player moves away from you? What happens when a player leaves the server? Does difficulty revert?

  9. I built a base by the swamp and cut a channel to my moat into the marsh, then kited leeches in… they do a number on the grey's, lots of wood, resin and eyeballs in the moat, just need to drink a poison resist mead before jumping in to retrieve them. 😃
