It is really pretty simple. Microsoft promised they would continue to support the Xbox One for 1-2 years after the launch of the Series X. To me, that means that all 1st party games coming out in 2020 or 2021 should be released for the Xbox One. Exceptions can be made for games like Flight Simulator where it just isn't feasible. But there is no technical reason why Halo Infinite can't be released for the Xbox One. Yes, it will be more work. It might mean the game releases a little later than it would if they dropped the Xbox One. So what. They should do what they said they would do. And playing via xCloud is no substitute. It would be for a game like Flight Sim, but not for Halo.
1:14:16 I can't think of any reason why games streamed via xCloud wouldn't have ray tracing once the service is upgraded to Series X specs. Where did you hear this?
At this point far into development of halo infinite, dropping the old consoles wont change much from a gameplay perspective, if I'm not mistaken one of the 343 staff already played through the game 3 times now.
When looking specifically at halo, no dont drop old gens. But for newer games like fable that are far out enough to alter the game, then yes leave behind old gen.
I get where archimedes and boom are coming from but I think they're looking at this as if the game will be overhauled to really take advantage of serious x. 343 is polishing the game at this point. Last gen had delays despite being built only for ps4/xb1, so seems like people are looking for something to blame other than poor management.
Similar to the medium, the dev team should know by now what isn't possible on old gen and should've made the call to drop or not. If the game is slated for crossgen, then whatever is present now should work on old consoles.

The One X and One S are years old and dated. Consumers should have known this with the announcement of Series X/S.
I think there can be a cross gen transition, but maybe not on Microsoft's biggest IP?! We've seen Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla, Dirt, etc.
Lastly, Destiny started cross gen and later DLC finally cut off 360,/PS3 support. Destiny 2 saw a noticable bump in presentation. So, I guess if Halo Infinite is done, there is no harm in last gen support. But I would start planning to cut last gen consoles out with future support on the title.
Xcloud on last gen consoles would help make the experience for both new and old gen consoles great on the visuals, but would it make it hard for competitive players who need no latency?
Why is Zemi and Bit dancing around Xcloud? It could very well fix the whole thing you guys are arguing about by just opening up support for next gen game streaming to old hardware
