  1. I personally think the thruster packs blended well with the super soldier aspect of Halo. I hope the thruster packs return with some tweaks. I’m skeptical about the grappling hook. It doesn’t seem like something a Spartan would use.

  2. Hot take: The grapple hook should have been what the thrusters are in Halo 5, advanced movement that is an optional pickup in multiplayer and not integerral to the core mechanics

  3. I'm wondering if the grappleshot isn't the only game changing piece of equipment that will be available as we're running around the open world.

Maybe it's just the only one they've shown us so far, it would be interesting to see what other optional equipment they might have for us to use in the sandbox… maybe a "jumppack" that lets Chief do a sort of double jump in midair.

  4. It will be a cool mechanic to use a grappling shot. Yet at the same time, the people in charge of upgrading Mjolnir armor for Spartans did make alot of armor with booster packs onto them in Halo 5. So in a way this seems like a downgrade of the previous armor variants but still is in some ways an upgrade. But then again Oni and the UNSC isn't made of money so it might be tied to either budget cuts or the fact they were going to a Halo Array that is known to have difficult to maneuver around terrain.

  5. 1:43 What I've interpreted from the mentions in dev updates is that the Grapple Shot, being an on-map equipment in Multiplayer, will be single-use, much like the Shield Drain or Bubble Shield in Halo 3, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Drop Wall and the Active Camo in the Multiplayer map screenshot acted similarly. What the behavior seen in the Campaign Gameplay Demo has me thinking, however, is that there might be an option in Custom Games to enable a recharge rate, like with grenades in previous Halo games, which could open up some very fun possibilities for Grapple-centric game modes, or maybe even enable the option to have pseudo Armor Abilities, which adds more variety to the Sandbox.

  6. I think its a shame they didn't make it a one handed weapon with a limited use and bring back duel wielding, could be a fun time if it was duel wielded with a weapon like say the mauler
