Halo Infinite's Massive Potential ft. ChrisRayGun | Defining Duke: An Xbox Podcast, Episode 3

Today, Defining Duke invites in their very first guest to show, Chris Ray Gun! Chris sits down with Matty and Karak to mull over the 29 confirmed exclusive games dropping in 2021, but it always came back to Halo. Whether it is a flagship IP or not is up for debate, but the reality is that Halo Infinite is currently Xbox’s biggest announced game coming soon and that means a lot is riding on it. From the free-to-play multiplayer, to valuable lessons learned by 343, to the campaign, Halo Infinite has all to gain or lose. The boys also sink their teeth into new major additions to Game Pass and Microsoft shopping for big studios to acquire. For a company that just acquired Bethesda, it looks like they’re not done yet, but who’s next? That along with the future of Ninja Gaiden, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and more squeeze into this week’s show! Let’s discuss.

Early access to new episodes will go live every Thursday ad-free at 12:00 PM EST at http://www.Patreon.com/LastStandMedia. Episodes will be available publicly three days after.

  1. I have a theory that peoples love for Halo 3 is rooted more in the nostalgia related to that time in their life, the newness of Xbox Live multiplayer, as opposed to the actual gameplay. Halo 5 multiplayer is a masterpiece.

  2. The conversation about no hype game is valid but the conversation you guys had about Gamepass later is why the content is so varied. I honestly think outside of Halo, Tunic & Psychonauts 2 have a chance to be big.

  3. 343i is an incredibly talented technical team and their issues have been squarely focused on Story Narrative. But if you see Halo 4 its shocking that they got it to run on an Xbox 360 and Halo 5 runs at 60 fps on base Xbox One console, something developers seemingly have given up on even today.

Also the Swarm are the scariest, not saying smartest or more efficient. But if a Juvie busted out of flesh egg, or a pouncer lands infront of me, or flock of flesh hungry leeches is coming my way… that is nightmare inducing.

  4. They finally going to open a 5 guys here in nz and I can see what it's all about, heard about it tons on podcasts over the years.. we have a shake shack but its the rip off of the American brand. But when I tried shake shack in Istanbul it was ok but nothing to rave about.

  5. 16:53 I disagree with Karak here. The Medium is not doing the same thing as split screen. Split screen is one world being rendered with four separate cameras and player models being controlled in the same world. The Medium has 2 separate worlds being rendered with the cameras viewing in separate worlds that have separate models. Saying it is 2 games being rendered at once is not far off from whats actually happening; which explains 30 fps.

  6. "What does 343 do if not Halo?" What did Guerilla Games do instead of Killzone, a new IP. Also I find it kinda weird ppl say we can't expect a Halo to match old Halo and yet God of War 2018 and Breath of the Wild are up there with the best of their respective franchises.

  7. In n out is putrid, now there is a hot take lol. Who would take these clowns opinions seriously on burgers especially after they discredit themselves. Five Guys is mediocre in my experience. I'd be willing to give them more chances if a meal wasn't around $15. I can get a better meal from almost any place with that amount of dough and more food that isn't just mostly overpriced french fries.

  8. Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive were both made by Tomonobu Itagaki. Also, he was accused by one employee of "unwanted sexual advances", but was found innocent in court, and by an internal investigation by TECMO.
