And I don't figure out how to gather materials from gas giants.
Firespark fixing the worlds energy problem….just put solar panels around both poles. I can see Elon Musk doing it in a few years. We can always count on you to find ways to cheese the system.

I see your mec flying. For the life of me I can't get my guy to fly. He just jumps. Keys say "Double Click Space", but when I do that my guy just jumps up and down. Please help. Anyone?

The efficiency of placing solar panels on the equator or the poles depends on the panet's Axial Inclination. This information can be found on the map data as seen at 4:39. For my planet with less than a degree of tilt, i actually gained more solar power by placing it on the equator. I'll have to "for science' it a bit to determine what degree of tilt is the sweet spot.
Another power tip, once you are able to siphon resources from gas giants, that is when you have true access to unlimited power. I still have my solar sails, but the majority of my power actually comes from hydrogen-fueled generators fed by my local gas giant. I'm still stockpiling Duterium so I can easily switch over to nuclear power should the need arise.
