In this video I’ll be reviewing and sharing my thoughts and impressions of HITMAN 3 so far after just over 2 weeks since release. I tried to remain fair as possible and provided reasonings for everything I mentioned and provide examples of the points I cover.
At the end of the video I made a mistake. I said there’s no maps in the game I don’t dislike. What I meant to say was there’s no maps in the game that I don’t like 🤦♂️ my bad!

Already got mastery on Berlin. It’s such a robust map, it just allows you to make up your own ideas.
The challenges as well are easier as there isn’t just one way of doing that challenge.
Its a masterpiece… I just dont understand why they removed melee animations and the electrocution phone smh

We need a legitimate Revolver gun. I know it would be too difficult to implement it but bring back dual wielding. Lastly, I’m not a fan of how some unlockable items that carry over from H2 into H3 are not unlockable atm in H3. ie Bat Shuriken and Santa suit. Granite those are holiday content and we may get them again come Halloween/Xmas.
I'd forgotten about the train mission in Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow – great mission (great game all round as well at the time)

Have you noticed broken maps from the Legacy packs? In Haven Island by bodies are routinely seen through walls, and in Whittleton Creek the opportunity to take out both targets with one shot no longer works. They don't walk together anymore.
Sapienza is still the best Hitman map ever made
I completely agree 100%. I believe porting over the progress should’ve automatic.
You can kill all eleven targets in Berlin. Not as a silent assassin though.
I think there should have been a lot more kill opportunities

I'm enjoying it so far, they just need to sort the bugs out.
I have fully explored Dubai although it says I have 4 areas still to find. I've checked the map and there is nothing left to discover.
On Dartmoor the camera seems to be broken as I can't do 2 picture challenges even though I'm in the right place at the right time.
Even though I leave on the motorbike it still says I haven't done that.
The lighting is all messed up like you say.
They can still spot you through walls.
You get caught on doors and other objects as you run around like bad collision detection.
I'm sure there's others but this is what I can recall of the top of my head.

Berlin was my favorite of the new maps. I just wish the targets were more than slightly better enforcers. They should be laying traps and trying to position you for a stealth kill
Trust me, turn HDR off for all games, especially H3! Makes all games look much worse. Try it out. Good vid btw, I would say my main criticism is how easy the games have become.
With this on Epic’s platform, if I have hitman 1&2 on steam will the be ported over?
Is it worth buying again if not just to have it on EGS? I heard they upgraded the previous games.

I was initially disappointed on my first playthrough that the maps were smaller. But after going back and mastering them, it's my fav collection of maps of the trilogy, each map has an interesting quirk.

The last mission reminds me of a mix between the train level on goldeneye 64 and snowpiercer.
I'd just like to say that the fire extinguishers are definitely still very useful, just in a different way. Accident KOs don't have bodies found, so it's nice to toss an extinguisher, shoot it and take the outfit of the person who was knocked out by the blast.
Agree about the unlockables like who needs a snowball lol and five different lock picks…thought there should be more story missions on each map aswell like hitman 1and 2

Hey freeze you mentioned still playing a lot despite having 100% the game, but what do you do? Just replay? Also how do you feel about the lack of assassination challenges compared to hitman 1&2? It feels like there are only 2-3 challenges per target
I hope they don't bring exclusive rewards to elusive targets.. i hated that in h2 and i prob wont even be able to do the 1st one because i cant get a ps5 as they are out of stock everywhere.. and ill need to start from scratch because i'd rather play h3 on a console since my pc is getting a bit outdated. i wish they done cross platform progression honestly.. Hard to disagree with your criticisms. The more you mention the lighting, the more I notice it.
One of the biggest strengths for me is the storyline. The twist and turns throughout have been fantastic, and I'm not quite at the end. I just completed Mendoza and will be moving on to the final map tonight. It's definitely been the most emotional of all the games, as you really see the dynamic of the relationship between 47 and Diane manifest.
I noticed a few problems with so/sa, I sometimes get spotted through walls. Or for some reason the guards go into panic mode when I have a sniper on my back behind cover. Anyone else have or had this problem?
I love hitman 3, the only map I'm not a huge fan of is mendoza because there's not enough ways to kill both targets suit only

I agree with most of your sentiments here, especially, I'm still bothered that the legacy suits are locked forever behind ETs in the old games and will be here too. Of course HM3 is the end all, be all perfect package. But, at the same time- HM2016 and HM2 go on sale often, and not everyone can afford a new game at this time. Having timed rewards limits the amount of stuff players can earn and punishes them for not being able to play right at launch, or for picking up the games late.
Did you already figure out how the Estate Wines Challenge in Mendoza works?
The episodic integrated format of this series was perfect for the weapon customisation system from blood money. Unlocking a main weapon and then subsequent attachments for mastery would have made the unlocks much more useful and interesting. I love hitman 3 though
I mist say I agree with you on most points. I agree that the soundtrack is really good, but also the sound design is spot on, the audio ques, footsteps, etc.
However, i felt, seemingly uniquely (as in no one else feels this way) that there isnt as much playability as the other games. This is even more annoying to me when some of the content unlocks for this game are things I’ve had since season 1 or a suit i got in season 2. The new suits are quite good tho, on a side note.
Perhaps its just me that is the problem, i will just enjoy the game and hope they add some more content.

Death in the Family is my new favorite. I love making my own contracts for it. So many fun set ups. Dubai and Berlin both were meh for me. And the train doesn’t even qualify as a location for me.
The game is excellent bcos the Hitman formula is simply perfect (for that sort of game) by now. At this point in time, it's really all about how good the individual maps are. Hitman 3's maps are, I think, slightly worse than Hitman 2's maps, and slightly better than Hitman 1's maps. Mendoza is fantastic, Dubai and Dartmoor are okay, and the three other maps are rather weak. There's also less replayability than in Hitman 2, as the maps are smaller and there's less going on in them.
I'm exactly the same, the game is enjoyable and I'll play it but if I wasnt a sucker for nostalgia I wouldnt touch this with a barge pole. Hitman 3 is a dlc for hitman 2, in some aspects 3 is worse.. somehow. Ledge shimmying turns 47 into a wind blown marionette, excessive bloom is still around (when walking up the stairs into the first dubai hall, its like the devs confused ray tracing with sun bloom, can barely see a thing). Camera shoulder swap gone… for some reason. And theres definitely less content than in hitman 1 or 2. Visuals are hardly upgraded considering this spans across 2 gaming generations. The same terrible AI voice actors for the guards are back (strong british guy -for middle eastern coloured dubai guards). The progression and upgrade/reward system is completely broken… if you want to unlock the classic all black suit on hitman 1 and 2 all you had to do was complete GOTY in SA… now you have to complete all 17 levels in SA. The replayability is there but considering I came into hitman 3 with everything in hitman 2, which is everything that hitman 3 has to offer, the replayability just isnt motivating
