The Elder Scrolls Online | Proving it can run on Linux

At times, people don’t believe me when i tell them i am playing a game on Linux, because Linux is relatively unknown to the general populace. Well around the parts i live anyway. Even if a person heard of Linux before they heard it’s used by rude technical minded people or it’s some sort of server thing. So I decided to upload “Proof” that games can indeed run on Linux.

Wondering, why not just use windows like a “normal person”?

Here’s why:

Windows 10 with its forced installation of random apps which alienated me from the Windows platform. Microsoft also makes no mention of the third-party apps that they install such as “spotify” either because I guess they feel entitled to do it without asking for consent. Then there are the various background processes that keep occupying RAM and since they are always running (even when the system is idle), Windows uses at least 2 GB of RAM. Compared to my current Linux setup called “Arcolinux with the Openbox desktop environment” my system uses less than 500 MB of RAM in idle. Of course, you might argue that computers have so much RAM these days that it doesn’t matter but it does matter, to me. I also disliked that I couldn’t remove that God-awful Cortana and Edge browser, and with all the security issues, privacy invasive EULA… and hidden bugs/exploits Windows has lately I simply don’t trust it anymore. At the very least the Linux source code isn’t hidden and if/when exploits are found they are seen and fixed, not hidden away and brushed under the rug until it becomes an issue endangering millions of systems worldwide.
