Apex Legends Matchmaking has some serious Issues and it’s time we discuss all the existing problems and actually talk about possible solutions. Skill Based Match Making in Apex Legends is flawed in many ways such as not even considering those who group with teammates and those who solo queue, the difference in skill is vast and it really impacts chances of having fun for many casual and pro players.

I created a new Apex Legends account just so i could play with them, because of how much my level and KDR they're being put with only Preds, i play bad in that account, like, i purposely don't kill anyone and kill myself just so it doesn't put me high

I ran into a pred 20k 4k stack once when i returned to apex after a couple months.
I had to return again a week later.
I agree that matchmaking is a problem that needs immediate attention, but I don't see any issue with anyone being sweaty in a pre made. Sweaty to you could be fun to them.
This is actually a huge problem for me in arenas, I get level 50s and under consistently while my opponent are 4K sweats
I m just 3 stacking but I never play casual cuz I think it’s sad and to easy if 3 diamonds sweat against people who just chilling

I run solo q alot, and also play with friends a good amount too and I still agree completely. I say go with sperating solo and stacked lobbies
I 100% agree with this man, i play casually with friends and we constantly get f'ed on by full master/pred squads on Sydney servers pub games. We stand no chance, and its not because we are bots :/

Also I don’t understand why some people care so much about their k/d. I saw a guy on Reddit boasting that he has 24 k/d (he probably 3 stacks pubs every game). K/d means nothing in Apex.
Honestly my point of view on this is that when a team is tryharding to win and doing all of that it feels all the more satisfying to kill them as a solo player. I dont really want the wues to be completel split as that will ruin the experience if i ever want to stack with my less than average irl friends. I don't think there is an easy fix, hence why respawn havnt done anything. The amount of people that would lose enjoyment from their three stack games being super hard(the less than average three stackers) would far outweigh the solo players that would win more. TBH as a high level player who plays a lot of solo i dont mind how it is atm.
As someone who solos pubs for practice, I appreciate the try-hard teams.
Arena ranked is also an absolute joke when it comes to matchmaking… I’m currently a D2 and if I solo q I get silvers and golds on my team.
Let's be real, we know that respawn/ea wouldn't do anything about the match making in this game…. it's kinda sad that bugs and "issues" that cause them to lose money gets patched almost instantly(max 2days) but issues like mm, audio etc will just be ignored.

I have 14k solo games in apex and very rarely going against really good stacks that play like ALGS. And even when i do, good for them, it is pubs, you can play however you want in pubs in my opinion. Me personally dont see this as a big problem in apex, if you die from people 3 stacking, just move on and dont take it so seriously, it is pubs
I have been called sweaty 3 stack holding hands by ottr several times when i just happend to get another master teammate haha (no hate, my point is just not every squad with 2+ master/pred players is a stack)
Great talk! I would love to hear from you about the solo ranked Idea. Even in ranked, i get stupid teammates that can't win a 1vs1, thats in platinum. It's so annoying
If you are Diamond,Master or Predator in ranked,you are already better than almost 80% of the player base.And any of these ranks triple stacking in pubs is actually cringe💯

If you are a kil grinder, stacking is the only way to have a chance to actually retain your position.
Solo Q is nearly impossible to retain a high position on a leaderboard
I have a friend he’s top 50 gib and top 200 rev he plays pubs like ALGS and he always want to play with me but I always say I’m full bc I hate playing like that I rather have fun than play like my life’s on the line
1 year ago when I was getting teammates with 100 kills and it was not fun. Now I get in game and most of the time I get teammates with 10-20 or 30 kills. Now with those you encounter to a full team of masters or preds. It is pathetic to see this really. If you good, you play with discord, just go to ranked fight with same level of enemies. It is so annoying overall, that I go to duo instead to minimize teammates with terrible stats. Where I started playing solo and it is much much better when you dont need to count on anyone.
I think it is a problem, I pretty much only three stack or go into to doubles and two stack, but I only play about five matches of Apex a week and only do it to hop on with my friends none of us are particularly good at the game and in those five matches we might get one win if we are lucky. I pretty much only use gaming as a way to connect with friends socially that I can't see in person, and I really wish they had 6v6 deathmatch or something so I could play with more friends at once also private lobbies, I'd love to get 20 people in an apex game and do some fun stuff.
You talked ALOT about solo queing. So I will address that:
When you "solo q- nofill" you know what youre signing up against. That's it. There is nothing more to say on that. It is what it is. The game shouldn't favor you because your kd is 7.0+ and you want to do a not team based aspect-solo'ing.
Yes a full stack of preds, comp, communicating, joining pubs to get their rythym isn't a bad thing either. You may get mopped by that team, but it's a learning experience.
You see when respawn decided to turn the game into an esport, catering to "pro voices." They don't really care to much about the general public. Example (tap strafing, nerfing weapons, meta changes, etc..).
Now, me knowing you are having 20bombs on every character in the game, I don't think it would be fair for you to wall ounce, shield swap, super zip, etc. if youre in pubs either, because the mass majority can't do that stuff. If youre solo qing(no fill), you would be the epitome of a 3 stack. You would be "try harding" as well, to prove what exactly?
The games matchmaking in general is broken. 100% but I also don't knock pred stacks because once youre dead, you can spectate, learn and watch how they do things.
All in all, just my opinion. Ottr you make good content. keep up the good work brother!
As someone who has played solo and played stacked the difference between stacking and solo is crazy. I'm not pred but I've hit masters and it doesn't matter if I stack with 2 9ther master tier players or soloQ I end up in the same lobby.
And it sucks because it either forces me to stack to have a chance against the other stacks or soloQ and rip my fucking hair out

I solo and three stack. Im decent, masters 4ks 25k 10 10 10 whatever whatever. But not everyone is as cracked as you, even alot of preds and masters are genuinely not as cracked as you think. I get home from work hop on solo i get good games get bad games but it gets boring. Im busy with work i like to talk its fun to join posts. Not every teamate has a mic. But i agree three stacks who sweat hold dicks are so annoying. Ive join groups that are so serious it’s annoying. But i do three stack with players with similar skill as me, we communicate HES LOW BEHIND U ANOTHER SQUAD LETS GET HEIGHT. Its fun it gives adrenaline and i find myself trying less three stacking than solo qing. I want to relax and slay not try hard and slay. And i get rolled to theres solos that roll me. But as we’re communicating all that were making jokes trying dumb plays and having a good time. I cant play solo without sweating my balls off. U can make the argument oh why are you trying so hard in pubs. So why does anyone ever try in pubs ? Look at streamers look at your gameplay right now, youre focused slaying and trying but yes ur solo but then the argument is should no one try in pubs :/ im not as good as u, u roll people.

Playing overwatch, for honor, gears of War, apex and other games; stacked teams are annoying. Whenever full stacks run meta weapons or characters and play it like its a $3m tournament, it makes the game a chore to play

Sandbags is an understatement. This Matchmaking system is so bad to the point you don't even get a chance to meet people on your level to even make a ranked team. 3 stacks or not, the matchmaking system should match solo's with teammates on their actual level.
I know I’m kinda late to the video but my take on this is that it is definitely a problem and it needs more attention but I’m no dev so no idea how that could be done but from my experience as a solo player it’s rough out here sometimes I used to drop 10 kills a game consistently and have even had a 24 kill game and 21 kill game but it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten close to a 20 bomb and sure enough when I ultimately choke the players that I die too is a 3 stack of masters or preds. And another thing that is a big issue at least here on console not sure if it’s on pc but I see a ton of smurf accounts and recov accounts it’s nuts how many i see literally last night I saw a level 5 with 4K badge and 20 bomb I can’t remember his teammates stats but it’s besides the point. And don’t even get me started on recovs literally just go to eBay and types “Apex badges” you can see the whole market that exists there and it’s disgusting that EA and respawn allow it to go on for so long it’s really de-motivating as a solo the game is pretty boring at times anyways when playing alone but running into smurfs,recovs, 3-stacks just makes me wanna play something else altogether I’ve basically given up on 20 kill badges now every season a new legend comes out I try to get it but always die at 15,17,18 it’s actually painful.
They should either make ranked duos or just add solos
