Chromie Time is coming. Shadowlands is bringing a level squish to WoW, and leveling new characters is going to be a bit different! Today, we’re taking a look at the structure of leveling 1-50 after the level squish as well as other assorted trivia like how heirlooms and heirloom upgrades work in Shadowlands, Relics of the Past to craft custom low-level armor and when you learn to ride mounts and fly.

What if I DON'T want to reach Level 10 in an hour? What if I want to – you know – PLAY THE GAME?!? This is an absolutely terrible idea. It sounds like Blizzard has no confidence in their old content, and wants to hide it out of embarrassment. (The new homogenized starting zone, Exile's Reach, pretty much verifies this. Now, your character has no rootedness. All the races might as well be the same – no sense in picking Undead over Blood Elf or Orc.)
All I want to do is start a new character, and play through Azeroth, Outlands, Northrend, the Cata zones, Pandaria, etc., on that one character, at a reasonable level. I don't want to have to start a brand new character to experience every expansion. I don't want to "level faster." If anything, I want to level MUCH, MUCH SLOWER, so I'm not outleveling massive amounts of content in the blink of an eye.
Are there SOME people who want to level as fast as possible? Sure, but if Blizzard really thinks that the game they spent over a decade building is really that much of an inconvenience, then just let them blip to the level cap if they're so interested in playing Shadowlands. Don't ruin it for the rest of us!
Weird… i made my wow account only last year and only had 1 character to level 89. I never even started the BFA content but chromie is available and i can change timelines….
Is this a glitch or can everyone access chromie time?
how come I didn't have a choice? After finishing Exile's Reach I was taken on a boat with Talanji and then I did the Zandalar missions
I dident pay my monthly supscrition and I can still play with my level 50 characters
35-45 minutes if you have a the noob transporter…. which many wont have like myself whom never got it even thought ive gotten to 100 in previous versions.
game is ruined. its trash. why people still play is beyond me. hasn't been good for a long time. yeah im hating. bring on ashes of creation. time for somethign news. wow should die.
Very well explained! It's only weird you can still quest in a different expansion than your time line. For example, you choose the Wotlk timeline, but you can just quest and level up in Outlands.

Them cutting the Levels is the Reason why I will for sure never return! they robbed me of 650 (!) hard grinded Levels! Fck Blizzard!
I finished lvling a lightforged in the legion zones and it was a blast. With that +20% exp from killing demons I was able to level up silly fast. The only problem was getting to areas for the demon invasions that were on the other side of the mao. However after doing them all its worth the wait.
I only quested in areas demon heavy. And when I ran out of question I'd just grind demon mobs until new quests popped up. It was an absolute blast.
Can't wait to get back into engineering and level up those old trinkets thanks to relics
If you don't run Exiles Reach in the beginning, you get screwed for gear, bags and gold through 10. Not that the greens and pitance of gold is OP, but it's still generally better than anything you'll get in the original starter zones; especially with the inflation the wow econ suffers from.
For some reason my Chromie says that they need me in Icecrown. Just finished all quests but still i cant go back to other expansions 🙁
I started burning crusade, came out with my hearthstone and cant go back into outlands. The mage in orgrimmar doesnt put me there either, neither the dark portal
Are you a paid Blizzard shill? Why would any true fan of any franchise, who's worth their salt praise any game developer dumbing down and removing things even more then it already has just to make it easier for them to maintain their product? Blizzard did this is so it would make it easier for the team to maintain and update WoW, it's to save time and money – they didn't do it for you or the players. I'll never understand todays Blizzard fans. You guys are much like Trump supporters who seem to enjoy being screwed over. 1-50 is one of the worst ideas Blizzard ever came up with, right along with the removal of everything else and all talent tree's that made the game indepth and unique that the game ever had.
2 or 3 days leveling up in dungeons and I'm already 47 , it's crazy. how fast you level up. Just leave your character next to Chromie, rest the character when not playing and when you log in, go ahead with the dungeons. Easy experience, easy gold. And then if you want to do quest, go ahead.
That was my way of doing it.
Why in this way? probably because I've been playing this game for almost 11 years. I love this new way, you don't even need to buy the service to boost your character to level 50. That service is ridiculous.

Doesnt work at all. I have many level 50s so that's one reason out of the way. I have tried at level 10 20 30 40 45 and the stupid cos still has no option. Yes it is the CHROMIE stump in Stormwind, It just says, go explore talk to the king. did all that, Fcuking useless.
