  1. Yeah I knew that and that's why I always counter argue against free loaders complaining about wanting free skins vs buyers supporting the cause and flexing.

  2. If you're stating the production cost of skins is a justification for respawn/ea overblown pricing for their esthetic products in apex I find this logic somewhat flawed, especially if you compare it with competitors like say overwatch. At least OW gives you 21 characters at one initial price, apex giving you 6 players at launch is almost predatory. (And yes OW is not a battle royal, but there are stark similarities between apex and OW)

Game developers plan their games out , from the initial product to conception, and it continues with dlc and so on. They also know how much they have to pay for artists, designers and staff in general vs how much profit they plan to make.

The problem starts when they choose to use the "freemium" model. Pretending that it's a generous to give the game for "free". When it's really just a bait as switch to try to get as much money out of consumers as possible.

Do you honestly think that $50,000 isn't recouped quickly, because the company knows players want variety and will pay for more Dlc chracters? Respawn has made 90 million across all platforms. 50k is a drop in the bucket to them.

I really enjoy your videos, but this sounds a little misleading. Can you please clarify your statement? I've worked in the gaming industry as well have been a gamer for over 30 years, these are bad business practices that need to be abolished.

I'm not saying profit is bad, I'm saying that Apex's business model is an underhanded formula thats get consumers to empty their wallets through trickery. In particular freemium games. It targets younger gamers who don't know better (unless they choose to to the research themselves)because they are raised with these business practices and think this is normal. Without clarification this video is problematic.

  3. Just straight lies. Skins cost next to nothing and 1 person can normally design and develope a skin in a day alone.

This is just straight trying to make an excuse for the dumb price of skins in games. I worked on doing exactly this job previously for an old game called Gunz Online 1 & 2. Recolours took less than a day for one person to do for a male and female variant.
A new skin took around a day for 1 person and that included actually checking for bugs and clipping issue.

Honestly you just straight talking ballshit.

If creating a single skin is costing you 50000 then the lead developer needs to be fired as he obviously isn't managing correctly.

There are community made skins were people have made them and 3d modeled them in a couple of days and these aint even proffesionals. There is also many games that offer this free when people have the tools. Tf2 was a good example.

Aint no skin in apex cost 50000 to make and thats a fact.

  4. You’re telling me it cost thousands of dollars for multiple people to come up with a subpar outfit? No offense to big game developers, but it’s very rare that you see extremely creative skins to the point where I’d actually want to spend my money on them. 🙃

  5. Its kinda inaccurate… some skins can cost from 500$ of recoloring it depends who’s working and what type of art or skin your working with… its not always this high it can be cheap too… its better to give every info about skins and not just what the company u worked with served

  6. I call bullshit, these skins are ugly af for that price, I don't care how long it took or how much one gets paid. There's no way any skin in this video game anywhere close to that much.
