I think you are getting very focused on taming and methods 🙂 I have played 90hrs now and not tamed a single animal i just dont see what it offers to the game.

Can you move tamed boars on your ship?
I need help building supports , I can’t for the life of me figure these supports for a large roof I’m building , any one got any time or can show my how to do it ?

You can use gates, build the small gate at each end and open/close as needed
@firespark81 i found a even cheaper way to raise the terrain, ill try to explain.. the hoe raises a 2×2 (or 1×1 of the bigger floor piece.) so if you put your hoe 'crosshair' circle thing on the very edge of the already raised ground and raise terrain you should be able to raise a 2×1 to the same height (i was raising it 6-8 blocks in height with one go.) this is cheap and convenient way since terrain manipulation is such a meta way to play this game.. big warning. if you manipulated huge amounts of terrain you will lag tf out, its not optimized at all. plz make vid and complain about lag so devs fix ;p
Thanks, always had the boars take off or get bored with me after chasing me for a while, so maybe I just ran too quickly/far. Appreciate the harpoon idea, will have to advance in the game a bit.

Any tips on finding trader? my friend and i spend 5 hours sailing , running around.. still no trader and i know they spawn in black forest…

My tamed boars got released when a greyling attacked the fence. I wish they would implement a way is meant to wrangle your animals.
Yep. I just block shoved a 1 star up a steep vertical incline, through a black forest and over half my island. It was obnoxious.
Would love a lasso or animal cart. Something that you cannot portal.
Instead of not taming it all the way, maybe you could frighten them with fire like a torch too
i find useing the half walls works best. They snap, can take a bit of damage and you can stand on the outside of the pen and throw food over it to feed the pigs.

Step 1: have a shield.
Step 2: find boar
Step 3: have boar hit shield
Step 4: kite boar with shield to pre built pen outside. (Make sure no 🔥 is nearby)
Step 5: Tame
Step 6: build corral to new pen, then chase using a torch.
This is so much faster than the 1st method I promise. Also only way to lose your boar will be to other mobs trying to hit you and hit the boar, thus killing it. Fire also scares the daylights from them. If your boar runs cuz of a campfire or torch give chase he will slow to a trot.

Can we tame deer? Catching one would be easy as they walk back to the spot you scare them from… I will try tonight if anyone doesn't tell me no.
my boars keep escaping their pen. I've tried everything, repaired the fence, put a fence inside of a fence, made a fence out of core wood….they just randomly end out outside of my enclosure, and usually take a while to tame. Anyone have this issue?

I will not do that. There is enough meat everywhere so I do not need star boars.
found two 2 star pigs while out hunting drakes and wolves, put pen up, tamed them, got them almost to base then the ground started to shake and the boars got flattened by a bunch of giants…. 🙁
Dont do this, takes way too much time. Just aggro the boar and let it attack you once in a while when you are going to your base.

you can just walk normally and the boar cant hit you. when they go to attack they have to stop for a split second which gives you time to walk away from their attack just enough so that they can never hit you lmao
you suhldnt really be farming anything else then 2 star boars, the give you 4 meat per boar
This seems like a lot of work. I had some boars spawn fairly close to m home base. I aggrroed them 1 at a time into the pen I made. Those 2 boars turned into 12….
They need a follow mechanic once you feed them aka "looking for more"
Anyone get a 2 star boar yet?
