In general variety is always good, grinding out a single game often results in a fairly quick exhaustion. Even if I "main" a game I always try to get that good variety in just for my own health and to avoid all the problems and I probably would´ve quit many games way quicker if I didn´t. Even outside of gaming this is a fairly good principle to go by in case you´re ever lost. Even if your end goal is to get good at a single thing, having other stuff to set your mind to on the side is extremely important and helps you more in the long run. Even if its just small stuff like getting into a new sport or finding some new people to talk to about stuff, all of this is good and important for keeping a good mindset about things.
