Can I use this information to host one with the server tool provided by the game devs through steam? Or is it unique to steamCMD?
So you dont need to set up/use a 2nd steam account now for this? Nice!
On that same Port Forwarding page, you can click "Enable Hairpin NAT" which should make it so you can show your own server. Make sure that you understand what "Enable Hairpin NAT" is doing before using it.
Whenever I run start_headless_server it runs for 30 seconds and then crashes. Any idea or help?
The tips toward the end about port forwarding, and the inexplicable reason that you have to forward 2457 and join via the Steam server browser were really helpful for me dude, thank you. Also, nice router – I have the same one lol.
Where is part 2 of linux setting up?
In the .bat file is the world name where you would put the name of the game from your save file if you wanted to not start a fresh game?
I can't get it to not say "not responding" like you do with the 2457 port ;(
so how my friend join to my server if the server not show up on server list?
Will the server be running if your computer is turned off?
And can it be done without the port forwarding? I don't have a router 🙁
Take a like subscribe and a huge thank you! been beating my head against a wall all day so glad i found your channel.
