With this being the first week we can upgrade legendaries (if we stocked up/only made 1) I figured I would do a quick little guide on how the process works. As you can see, it’s pretty simple! ^^ However, there are a couple caveats to remember, so I hope this video will help you.

A bit shorter of a video than normal, was quite busy binging on Torghast right before raid to make a second legendary. xD I hope this guide will be helpful to you, though, if you haven't looked into the process of upgrading legendaries yet for when you have some extra soul ash to use on it! I also have a guide on how to craft them if you haven't done that before, and there is a link in the video to it. Have a great day!

Can you change legendary powers on an item when you upgrade? Or once you pick a power are you stuck with it on that item forever (like the stats)?

ohh this is stupid.. so we have to keep spending gold at the AH to get the tier higher piece, to upgrade this. omg
Yeah the problem isn't the soul ash. It's the base item. Well… more specifically having to craft 15 of them every time you want to rank up. It's ridiculous. Atm it costs hundreds of thousands of gold. I dunno if Blizz's intention is to stop people from upgrading their leggies, but as far as i see it, that is what is happening. Either that or they want the tokens for the P2W.

I can't find a definitive answer on upgrading multiple ranks at a time, I have a rank 1 legendary chest for example, and I have enough ash to upgrade it to rank 3, so do i need to bother getting the rank 2 base item? if not I may just save my soul ash until i can upgrade to rank 4 so i don't waste gold on the rank 2/3 base items. Edit: got my answer from the comments, you save gold by doing multiple ranks at a time.
Sucks that we need a whole separate base item for the upgrade, instead of ACTUALLY upgrading the piece we already have. Those rank 4 pieces are already going for 40k on my server
