Cyberpunk 2077 is still on fire and today we’re digging a little more into the shady nature of the game’s release and the impact it might have on CDPR going forward.
We’re also talking about winners from The Game Awards… weirdly we didn’t have much to say about any of the world exclusives? ( Probably because Brian’s computer exploded but you can catch the daily episode about it anyway I guess).
Lastly, we tackle Twitch’s latest update to their terms of service and its target, contextualized use of the words ‘simp’, ‘incel’, and ‘virgin’.

00:57 – Cyberpunk 2077 is still on fire
10:11 – Brian says “I was wrong” Stadia fans
18:58 – CDPR has impacted Microsoft and Sony negatively
26:03 – Was the Cyberpunk hype like Like No Man’s Sky?

Hey, everyone! The title today is kind of more of a question for you all to ponder in the comments as we run everything back. We do answer how we think CDPR will be affected throughout and at the very end because it was asked directly in the questions section. I am not sure how well our takes are gonna hold up though considering just hours later Cyberpunk was delisted from the PlayStation store.
It certainly changes things a bit given the unprecedented nature of it. Honestly felt like CDPR was gonna be able to shrug some of these hits off – but with the delist it's going to become even more of a historic moment that's gonna be harder for people to forget. Anyways, this is our last day in the office until the new year so thanks for hanging out, and have a good holiday break if yours is starting today!
And then you get Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Spent nearly a decade in development, and didn't have problems on release. Not every over-hyped game fails as hard as Cyberpunk 2077, a few actually strive to live up to the hype.
Are you guys enjoying your latest star citizen patch?? Aka cyberpunk 2077
Despite all of the game's issues, it's still a 10/10! Anyone agree? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ghost of Tsushima, anyone?!?
Honestly, they could have just delayed the console versions and just launch the PC/Stadia versions on 12/10. Yeah it would suck that I would have to wait a little longer to play it on my PS4 Pro, but then we didn't have to read about all of this controversy. I can only speak for myself, that I am enjoying my playthrough of it, even though I experienced 3 crashes and a little lag on the loading.
Cyberpunk runs ok on my Ryzen 1800x build from 5 years ago with a asus strix 480…( even if the pop in is really fuckin bad) Never been a big console guy they have always been behind in their ability once I had my own money I knew where I stood. I do feel for the kids that got screwed. You shouldn't be forced to play it on a system it doesn't work. If anything it should be the opposite. If the console can't handle it then don't sell to those people furthermore what's up with the console companies allowing games that couldn't be ran on their systems to be sold on their systems its just bad for business.
Maybe it will be polished in 2077 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would like to know how the fuckups at top level are going to affect the individual employees who deserve credit for the games successes
I don't really care about cyberpunk 2077, it doesn't seem like a game that would interest me (dodged a bullet there). My concern is how this will affect gog. They are finally getting some major games (control and horizon zero dawn). There are many more games I want to see there. I'm worried their credibility is gone and so other studios won't be willing to invest in their platform.
Brian put it really well — Hype that got out of control. They did this to themselves. Hyped up the game with all the marketing then got way too ambitious with it. Sucks to see them screw it up this badly. It'll only get better so there's that at least.
Long term? not much, and probably only for the better.
im loving it on base xbox one….it looks like the greatest ps2 game ever made lol but im still enjoying it.
No offense to console players. PC players have been getting bugged backwards PC compatible from console for years. Welcome to the club.
Edit: someone mentioned this on reddit.
Sorry for my not a question 😇
Zach just needs to turn on the turn based combat instead of the free form one and it just swaps to a normal Turn based style, I get what they tried to do but the free form just comes off really weird
They fucked up repping the hard workers they them selves are making workers crunch? I want someone to get fired for that by the end of the month!
This is not a correction of Zac's Game Pass for PC experience, but hopefully helpful to others of you who might be having problems. Game Pass for PC as an app actually has very little issues. The reason for that is that its not a platform-like app like Steam or EGS. Its more of a collection of shortcuts to other information in Windows. When you download a Game Pass game, you can actually just go to the Window Store, find it, see its on Game Pass and install it. In fact when you install from Game Pass, you can go into Windows installations and see it installing there.
Why does any of this matter, and as I said its not a correction of Zac's experience. Its just to help you if you are having an issue with a game on Game Pass, what you are actually having is an issue with a Game on the Windows Store. So when you search for help, adding Game Pass can potentially lead you down a rabbit hole of misinformation. When the real help you need is available and easy to find if you omit Game Pass from your searches.
I hope that helps someone out there who is getting frustrated. Following this advice that I received from Microsoft has been hugely beneficial to me and helped me solve all problems I have had with games.
Just to clairy, the AMD topic is false. If you have an AMD under 8 cores the engine won't detect the cores for some reason and reverts back 4 I believe. If you have anything above 8 cores its working as intended. I adjusted it yesterday in Hex Editor and it made no change, but I'm running a 3900x with 12 cores and 24 threads. The 1.05 is supposed to fix AMD cpu's running 8 and under cores.
The problem with No Man's Sky though was that there was an incredibly long list of features that straight up weren't in the game at released that they said would be. Being buggy is one thing, but selling me a space exploration and combat game with endless environments, but give me a space ship and naked planets with no other players. It just wasn't they game they were selling. Being buggy is one thing, it'll get worked out, but they didn't sell the game they advertised.
If they never include 3rd person gameplay, never gona touch this game.
Been playing CP77 on one X with very little problems. No crashing or freezing, mostly just graphical issues.
game pass pc barely works for me
Does stadia have ray tracing? GeForce now does if not
"One employee asked the board why it had said in January that the game 'was complete and playable' when that wasn't true, to which the board answered that it would take responsibility.
Another developer asked whether CD Projekt's directors felt it was hypocritical to make a game about corporate exploitation while expecting that their employees work overtime (CDPR Promised no crunch time). The response was vague and noncommital."

Hopefully this will open up more focus and discussions on the growing trends in the Video Games industry over the years that culminates into situations like this.
Greedy corporate decisions, reduced workers power/conditions, lofty ever growing sales goals, non-sense deadlines, higherups-sales/marketing dictating when a game is ready for gamers to play, Publishers injecting exploitative monetary models/services that compromise games etc…to appease the infinite greed of ceos/billionaire shareholders at the expense of pretty much everything else.
-Batman Arkham Knight PC
-SWBF II
-Fallout 76
-Cyberpunk 2077
I am calling it out now, it will get worse when 'games as a service/streaming subscription' is applied across the board for games and the issue of 'game ownership' or lack there of will be the biggest problem to date – you are buying a service, not even a product.
A massive difference between Fallout 3 and Cyberpunk 2077's launch is Cyberpunk 2077 is actually unfinished. Why does this little fact keep getting overlooked?
Devs raised the alarm bells that the game was not ready, but higher ups pushed it out the door anyway.
Patches will not fix missing core content, features, mechanics and AI scripts. It has to go back in to complete its development and relaunch like in 2022-23.
Hey even I’m right there with you man xbox is my console but I still have love for ps5 but yeah man I’m waiting for halo I’m like the rare 1%who enjoyed halo 4 /5 multiplayer
I do wonder how long they had the ps5 and series x/s? Perhaps they actually forgot about the ps4 and such lol not an excuse, still bad.
Hey Kdin, just admit you hate Bioware and move on. Really tired of the "no one liked Mass Effect: Andromeda" line you and Inside Gaming always drag out. There is a sizable fanbase for the game (including me) but it was drowned out over the louder, whinier section of "fans" who also complained when it was announced that there would be no DLC for the game. Plus EA closed the studio that worked on the game so there was no one else to work on patches after the last update they sent out. Was that horrible to do? Yes, but you should blame the execs instead of the devs.
Also this just speaks to the larger problem of over-hype and instant gratification that the video games industry and the world at large has created. Plus the fact that they're charging $70 for games now while still nickle and diming us with microtransactions and forcing devs to crunch (plus toxic work environments for anyone who isn't a straight white male in the industry) , then releasing a game that is so broken that it requires multiple patches to fix.
Wait, Cyberpunk2077 launched ??? Why, I wouldn't know because IT'S NOT ON THE PS STORE… also, it's so bugridden it'd be better if they pull a 180 and do it like Anthem: "it's on EARLY ACCESS".
