Even a Ryzen 3 2200g runs RPSC3 pretty well, 3 years ago Demon's Souls was working on it and that's a APU with half the CPU Cores of PS5 and a quarter of the threads, with reverse engineered code. Sony should certainly be able to make a more refined version that runs much faster on PS5, because they have the base code of PS3, direct experience with every game engine and a tonne of games that had to be vetted to be released on the system.
In terms of hardware performance, PS5 could just run a ported version of RPCS3, ML could also be used to make the games run better, since a decent chunk of RDNA Stream Processors on all of the GPUs from that Architectural Family have the ability to run Machine Learning. AMD FSR should be able to take any games rendered at lower resolutions and intelligently scaled to higher resolutions that look as good as native ones.
I think nintendo won't have problems with the controllers on old games they have a controller for all the classics and you can map then too soo I'm more worry about Sony they could be thinking on psnow for backward compatibility so I hope I'm wrong.
