A shame you didn't pick Byzantines, their trait specialty is -25% gold cost buyout per alliance. Really strong for you, as it meant that with your many allies, you could e.g. spent 250 gold to buy a normally 1000 gold cost districts/units/infrastructure.
Try to trade as much resources from the AI overseas, since these warehouses gain a plus 5 gold per Naval trade route, it's why the buildings still produce so much gold in land locked cities. Also, you can still make a hell ton of money building these warehouses non-adjacent from harbors and since the game is bound to end, try to make and see how much money can be made – even beyond 20k?
I haven't seen any gameplay with the Ghanaians, so they are definitely a unique and interesting pick
