I Bought the FIRST BROKEN Xbox Series X Controller – Can I Fix It? When I plugged the controller in it had no power and didn’t respond at all. While diagnosing the issue I discovered some gunk on some of the motherboard components. I decided to reflow the main chip on the motherboard in case this BGA chip wasn’t fully connected. And that got it to work…until I put it all back together. So it was back to doing more testing to see what was causing the problem.

  1. Is it possible to replace the antenna that’s causing the issue, or the pad it connects to? Just wondering and maybe not the chip itself but antenna 🤔
Would be weird, but maybe could try🤷🏼‍♂️

  3. A great video could be trying to install a different more durable analog module for Xbox and PlayStation controllers with drift. You seemed intrigued by those modules in the new Atari controller- wonder if that could be used. Anywho, great stuff as always Tronix

  5. Did you try some of the components on the cord of The other board the part where it's soldered into there could be a component that went bad there that could be shorting it where it is not working

  6. Did you measure the impedance of the antenna on that side of the known good controller from the cable , seems to me the only thing that could cause a condition like that would be some kind of problem on the antenna side, else why would unplugging it remove the fault ?
I know you checked with the other side , but are you sure they are both the same ?
