  1. This is not a problem of the english (or any for that matter) language evolving, it is, yet again, an issue of the modern society not being able to adopt properly.
Yes, we are at a point where we, as a "modern" society, are overly vulnerable yet creative at the same time, so it just adds to that difficulty.
It is, to a point, ludicrously difficult to censor all that needs to be censored without hurting harmless words and conversations.
But I do fairly believe that we are also evolved enough to realize what actually needs censoring and what not in certain contexts. Be it games, political conversaation, religion, work, you name it.
Different situations require a different tone of communication hence why there are so many technical terms out there used in specific fields. Yes, this is the internet. Cyber bullying and other phenomenon are commonplace. I'm not saying this is good, as it clearly isn't, but I also believe it is completely our own fault for not being able to adept to this "new" kind of livestyle. We need to teach our kids not only that bullying is bad but also how to communicate properly and how to handle certain situations when they arise and…
Ah, I lost myself in my rambling again…
    Sorry for that.
Guess you all got the point ^^"

  2. I feel the way they should handle this is instead of bring up a pop up when you type insults like the ones shown in the video, they should detect when you press enter, and also detect if there is something after it, like if you were to try and type Paki, when you press enter it should do a check if there is an immediate letter after it, if so then it might be ok. However if the check fails, then pop up the message, it would make life so much easier.

  3. If this moderation feature is put into the game, the players will most likely just find other ways to say what they want to say by finding ways to evade the censors. This has happened time and time again with other games..

  4. theres going to always be some loophole or work around to these filters, we just have to keep finding them until we cant say a large percentage of the english language

  5. Why does everything try to be kid friendly these days? Even CS:GO (a game where you plant bombs, kill terrorists and wherein you can gamble and invest in digital items) has a toggleable chat filter

  8. I got blasted in a comment section for saying that they should let servers decide if they want to turn this off. This filter is absolutely ridiculous, if parents don't want their kids seeing bad words, then they shouldn't let them connect to online servers with strangers, end of discussion.

  9. who does mojang think this is protecting?
definitely not the kids who already have full access to the internet and are already constantly exposed to these 'bad words'
    it's tone deaf as fuck
