Kage the reason the portal worked at first was because when you first placed it, both portals had the same tag because they BOTH had no name, and the portal didn't have a chance to "refresh" after you named the outpost portal to "1"
then after you went through the portal, it had a chance to refresh and the one at home still had no name and you named the other one "1" and that's why it said unconnected after you went through it
if you had named the outpost one "1" then walked away from it and then back towards it then it wouldn't have worked
hopefully that makes sense

Teleporters need to be removed. What a stupid idea for this game.
Few thoughts for when you get to using boats.
Skip the raft, it sucks, go straight to the karve, also I learned the hard way, bring portal materials, because your 10 minute karve trip is very likely a 20 minute raft trip
Everyone is afraid of the black forest cuz it's the first aggressive place but once you build a base there and tame the land its nothing then you get to the swamp and you know fear then the plains where if you aren't in a full set of the next level armor you get one hit by a fuller

Bronze armor is way better, been waiting 2 days for you to figure that out.
Use control click to move a whole stack without dragging. Also to see how big the map is go to map and scroll out. It’s HUGE

I've been feeding boars nothing but raspberries and they're reproducing.
So I don't know but did you never play Skyrim? Just cuz Draugr seemed like a new word to you. Uh.. And I'm skipping the sausages made out of undead guy's guts LOL
Hay kage if you got wheat go build a windmill to make flower for breed
Grab a 2 star Boar and drag it back to tame in ur pen with any normal boar or 1 star boar to get 2 star boars. Those bad boys give 4 scraps and 3-4 meat each. Great to have as well as them bee hives. I got 10 total an dont know what to do with the excess honey yet lol
Little trick for you..keep one portal at base and then set the others anywhere….use the one at home to travel to anyplace..just change the tag..so say home base tag is "HOME" and you want to go to the swamp portal…..change the HOME tag to whatever you named the swamp and ta da…then when done with swamp just port home. Want to go to the snow mountain…change the home tag to whatever you named the mountain portal and done. Hope this helps
my 2 boars became 50! i fed them reg mushrooms, carets, radishes, blue berries, raspberries. They will not eat meat, fish, or yellow mushrooms. have a great time! Good luck! btw I did just had to cull them back down to just 2 again…cause I spent way to much time looking for food ALL the time for them.
At the 2end boss 2 trolls decided they wanted to join well I got the key and more hide
My boars eat berries and breed just fine. You just have to make sure there is enough space.
Your trader will probably be on that island north of you. Thats where mine is and my friends.

All ores and their smelted counterparts cannot be teleported, often requiring players to use Longships or hauling the ore over long land distances to return to base."

Might take a while but make trail it's really helpful between base's
Ancient seeds dropped from greyling spawn points
Burn their young put 3 ancient seeds on The fire
feed them with rasberries. easy to find and only one berrie per boar to make them mate. throw few extra berrie on the ground, the piglets will eat them, maybe. don't waste your carrots in there.
Ok gotta say making sausage from essentially zombie entrails it a bit gnarly.
if ya press scrollwheel you can ping on the map as well. that will show for the other players too
you need to give more food to them drop a stack and they eat one at a time
get wolves at the base of the mountain ! ( wolf pen with 2 sectioned off areas for capture ) they're cooler! Also, the boars aren't really worth the hassle.. with the mushrooms and berries they consume. Much easier to hunt for meat to feed the wolves + the wolves have pelts for higher tear armor later on & can actually fight for you in battles.
put 3 ancient seeds on the altar and summon the Elder ( second boss ) u find the seeds by destroying those greydwarf spawners in the black forest.
