  2. once you've got the 2 1 high blocks placed, and then a 2 high one in place beside it, you can delete the two 1 high blocks and clip in a 2 high block in there, effectively making a 2×2

  3. Instead of making your walls three layers thick, stay with two and make a walkway along the top by running stone archway pieces on the inside top of your wall. It makes a great walkway and shelters workstations underneath if you need that sort of thing.

  4. hey bro, I don't know if you already know that, but if you put workbenches all over your base, no mob will respawn inside their radius.. so if you cover EVERY BIT of space inside your walls with them, no surprises
    doing this you can also replant the grass without any worries.. the base will look cooler

  5. If you have a stone just below the surface – barely covered by the ground – it will actually make your crops above it unable to grow ! It was baffling me for many days until i decided to dig and see what was going on!

  6. why do you goto another world and mine stone, just spawn it in on the new world and take to main world, i can understand mining on your main world but if you go to trouble of going to another world, just make your life a little easier

  7. Tip to melee lox's, if you hop on top of their head rather than being on their back, you can easily use the sword or any other melee weapons. If you get on their backs you are very limited on weapons that damage.
    When you land on their head it actually is a fairly stable surface and it seems that they don't do their AOE attacks as often as being on their backs.

  8. Any modifications to the ground creates instances. Any building creates them too. Everything you can put items creates them too. So in short theres nothing you can do about it so just build away and deal with the lag

  9. The way the land terrain works, is the game is adding in inviz markers/items along the worlds grid that tell it 'this areas raised/lowered' or 'this spot is clear/grass/path'. The lag and instances comes in when too many of these are in an area. You can see the grid by raising the land and seeing where the ground insists its edges be.
    Every building peace and land alteration adds to the instance count. Making large builds wont add that much, but the land edits can add a lot even in a small area.
    For example say you raised the land, smoothed it, than tilled it. That's 3 differing land alterations stacked on top of each other in every corner of the grid. Now imagen that every grid mark. (think the small foundation width though it may be smaller than that, average range is a 6×6 area of that) Now add in that sometimes, when you edit an area, these markers don't get cleared/replaced, so that can add up even more due to overlap.
    This is what causes the large amount of instances to build up even in a small area.

    If you want a good example, the mod TerrainTools crates away to SEE these land alteration markers by giving them colored lights, and even count how many are in a given area. On top of that, it also lets you delete these markers resulting in reverting the landscape back to default. (it does not restore resources/trees/spawners. just the landscape).

  10. use a bronze sword and beat on a boulder, you wont damage the boulder and you can grind your sword skills that way, or rather any weapon that way

  11. Kage, why dont you turn the build that is on the middle of your main base into workshop? remove the workbenches from the main hall and put in the middle build, i think it has a perfect size for a workbench.
