I have had an incredible time playing Cyberpunk 2077… but now… it looks like I have to stop having fun, and work around a completely game breaking reality where save files just get too big and wreck your playthrough.

This game has redeeming qualities but in its current condition it should never have released. I cant rightly go to bat for this title anymore… and if it has taken this long for such issues to arise… I can only guess there will be more of them.

  1. The question is: is that CDPR mod a volunteer like most forum mods are? Or is he a hired employee? If he is a volunteer he likely doesn't have any insights into development or company processes.

  2. Damn, even Skyrim let me store all the cheese wheels I wanted. Although, yes, I could break the game if I stored too much but that only happens when I fuck it up and spawn a million cheese wheels or something. Skyrim is way more advanced!

  3. Listen listen listennn when ur save file reaches 8mb you simply override your biochip and V dies, if you think of it this way "its not a bug its a feature" then youll enjoy a lot more……. Yeahhhh ok they really have to fix the 8mb file size

  4. I'm still enjoying the game on PC, but I can't believe the amount of problems there are on it and I'm certainly glad I never considered buying it on the PS4. I'm also really disappointed in all the stuff CDPR showcased on this game that in the end never saw the light of day.

I mean am I missing something here? My first play through is heavily invested in being a netrunner and I remember them showing V being able to sneak up on a NPC and jacking into them. All I've ever seen as options however is kill them, or knock them unconscious.

  5. I guarantee you that in about a year the game will be fixed and everyone will completely forget that the game was broken, and itll be suddenly a full 180.
Same happened with Witcher 3, just on smaller scale cus CDPR wasnt so popular.

Honestly CP2077 is in better state than TW3. Story is better, side quests are better, theres more impactful choices, gameplay is better. And majority of its issues are the same as were in Witcher.

Funnily enough loads of people actually hate the game for invalid things. Lack of choices for example. Theres a looot of them, they just arent thrown into your face, its more subtle and believable.

  6. I'm having a hard time with this typical "don't blame the devs" approach or theme. Really? Are we sure the devs and specifically QA wasn't BULLSH**TING? Because it kind of seems like this was systematic from top too bottom AND from bottom too top….not just the "execs". The devs and specifically QA would have been screaming about the state this game was in. Did that actually happen? We know the employees are not happy…NOW…but it's really starting to seem like this was a two way street situation. 8 years in development? It's pretty apparent a whole lot of people were not doing their jobs and not paying attention… that's obviously a FACT at this point. Not just the executive level. Sorry….but I don't think the QA team was "QA'ing" a damn thing. I don't think the devs were really even trying. I don't think the execs even cared. 100% across the board. This in cooperate speak is called "siloing" and why you don't want this too happen. Where nobody is talking to anyone about anything and nobody is doing their job properly because there's no oversight or connection from one team too another. This is the end result of that….every time. NOBODY was doing their job. Everyone always talks about "crunch". lol…crunch doesn't really matter if you're sitting in the office doing basically nothing for 10 hours out of your 12 hour day and just collecting a paycheck. Because let's be frank….for almost a decade in development there was a lot of that obviously going on. This was a systematic "company wide" failure….not just the executives. That's my "hot take". This is devs who were under qualified…QA testers who were not testing anything…and execs who were not paying close attention….and everyone was lying too each other internally. That's the ONLY way this happens.

  7. This game is the anti Last Of Us 2: Bad gameplay but good story.

Also, I'm glad I read this now and not in a week. I play games as a collector and have, in the past 14 hours of playtime, done nothing but gather an ungodly amount of weapons and clothes. Hearing the save can be fucked up just because of how you play really has no excuse.

  8. How the hell did CPR not know about bugs like this with as long as they’ve had to get this game out.
Especially the base PS4 and Xbox graphic issues.
Very disappointing. I’ll be waiting a while to play this until things get more ironed out.

  9. Yes I spotted that news and posted on your 5 tips. That is how I was playing. I love exploring the game system but haven't played in three days. Hopefully I haven't done too much damage to my save.
That last statement is farcical. I will have to control my play in case I destroy my save. Very annoyed. Love the video. Captures the market very well. Last gen consoles suck. Next gen rare and the pc market shackled. 🤔☹️

  10. I play 85+, have auto dismantle, craft 500+ weapons for $ before painting job, did the quick 3mil with the painting , and my save file was 5MB. You must remember that "allocation size" when you format disk can make it worst or better it also can make game more or less bugy, popup texture ect.

  11. It's fun on PC as clunky as it can be. Thanks for the heads up about the save file size. I'll come back around to this game for another playthrough after updates when it's essentially a new game. God I hope CDProject Red has a Hello Games moment and just spends the next year or two patching this and making it playable/fun for everyone like it shoud've been on launch.

  12. Ok, there's some major misinformation in this video for which I don't blame UEG, there's just so much shit floating around about this issue, you can easily get confused.

First, the 8 MB save game file issue is not exclusive to PC only, it affects all platforms. The difference and confusion comes from the fact that on PC you can see the actual size of the save file while on consoles you cannot. On consoles you can only see the allocated space which is why you see people on reddit saying "My PS5/Xbox save is 20/60/120 MB". No, it's not, this is allocated space and as soon as your console save hits 8 MB, you're just as fucked as PC.

Second, the crafting. Crafting is not the problem in and of itself. Hoarding is. To elaborate – if you have multiple items that are not stackable and take separate slots – that will screw your saves. If you have many crafting material which are stackable – that will not increase the save file size significantly. For example I have done the following test – duped literally hundreds of thousands of each crafting material – barely had a few hundred KB increase of the save file. However, when I put 2-3 hundred recently crafted guns in my inventory or the apartment stash – the file size increased drastically with 2-3 MB.

Basically 3 stackable items even if they are hundreds of thousands will take less space than 30 non-stackable items on separate inventory slots.

This of course doesn't mean that a problem doesn't exist. Of course it does, it's quite infuriating especially if you are a major hoarder and fashion victim as yours truly and you like to keep items just because or different clothes to take fancy pictures. It's complete dumbassery and mind-boggling incompetence from CDPR to have such limited file size in 2020, no doubt about it. It's just that the problem is a bit exaggerated and misrepresented.

  13. Dude… To exceed 8mb you have to overexceed with exploits with duplication and stuff. Ffs it pisses me off. People who did almost everything a shit ton of dismantling and crafting have around 5 MB save file. AT THE END OF THE GAME. Its just another non story blew up by the media and haters its what i think.

  14. So you're telling me a 100gb + game only theoratically needed 8 mb of save files who saw those numbers and said.. HM yeah that seems about right..

And then you have GTA:SA where you can corrupt and destroy the game so hard in single player and still play that savefile for years

  15. Bruh, official response is "it might be patched in future". More likely it have to, because it's a critical bug. Not sure if ignoring official response but discussing the moderator response is professional from your side. Also the response is not professional too, the responses should be better coordinated 😅

  16. Destroying a save file is the worst thing that can happen in a game. I never had such an issue in any other rpg I played and I am a hoarder/collector. It just seems like bad game design on cdpr's part, especially since this has been an issue in the witcher 3 already.
Maybe there are technical reasons for the save file limitations, but if your engine can't handle so much crafting and such a huge world scale it down. Or change the save file system so that the ids for items you sold, destroyed, dropped ect. get removed from your safe file.
