It's wrong to say League is becoming worse. There are a lot of people that get into the game and like it a lot. You're just getting older and the game gets older and everyone gets tired of something after some time. Of course, your main being no longer how you want him accelerated the whole progress, but bear in mind that most people will feel the way you are feeling now, this has less to do with the game itself than with the time you spent playing it. Join the Most us, I feel like most people who were playing for fun left in this or last season, I remember 6 years ago I played a game at Xmas eve and everyone said at least merry Christmas, this year the few games that my friends begged me to play were all toxic unfunny hateful.
Game itself became just as toxic as the players. I'll shush there's no need to get angry that something you loved has ended.

Yeah, no one should be faulting you dude. I played for like 5 years. It just got worse and worse. They kept making champs that were more complicated, kept making champs with skills that are gated behind other things being done, it's just dumb. But the MAIN reason I quit was because of the toxic community. I was diamond (So not THAT good, but also not too bad) and I jungled. I can't tell you how many times trying to smurf an account up that I would get berated by bronze and silver players. Where they thought they were god and blaming me for the jungling I do.
It's become more toxic, with younger noobs that think they all should be challenger.
Good luck on your new endeavors. Trust me, leaving league will heal your soul. lol

League of Legends really went all downhill after season 7
I can somewhat relate. Investing in something that feels like a chore is like brain toxin. Switching up gears did wonders for me. I play League when I want to vent, and Smash Ulti when I want to have legit fun
