Immortals Fenyx Rising: PS5/Xbox Series X/S Shine at 60FPS – But What About Switch?

Update: quick clarification here. A rogue PS5 label appears between 1:38 and 1:46 of the video at the top left. As some viewers have noticed, the footage is of course Xbox Series X – the buttons being a bit of a giveaway. All other shots in the video are correct however. Apologies for any confusion.

Ubisoft Quebec crafts a beautiful new world to explore in Immortals: Fenyx Rising – and it’s a blast to play at 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Of course there’s more than a passing resemblance in style – and not to mention its physics-based puzzles – with Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The fact there’s a Switch version is remarkable however; it’s a game based on the latest AnvilNEXT engine tech that truly stretches the system. Does it run well? Or it least passably well? Tom and John combine forces to find out.

  1. Honestly, these videos make the Switch seem MORE impressive and the ‘next gen’ PS5 and XBOX series seem less and less impressive. What we have is the same game, same experience on a handheld system vs systems that are supposed to be 2 console generations ahead… This latest generation continues to underwhelm. Can’t even do last generation games at 4K at 60 FPS.. This is what the PS4 pro and X-box X were supposed to deliver…

  2. Congrats Digital Bias Foundry, you did it again.

Tom often misses noticeable differences in his articles (often making both versions identical like in COD comparison). According to VGTech the resolution dropped lower than what DF found in both consoles.

So I have just learned that the XSX game has tearing while it's virtually non existent on PS5. As I thought in their video their aim was to make both versions identical, while PS5 has actually the advantage.

Futhermore, VGTech has achieved a superior algorithm app while DF are still counting resolution manually…

  3. I believe analyzing the new games on old consoles in much more interesting that the next gen. Would love if you focused more on that even though I know next Gen console videos have more appeal to most people

  4. These guys and the Switch.. My mate brought his Switch round and showed me Doom and Witcher 3 on the Tv.. It was revolting. I couldnt play for longer than a couple of minutes it was so blurrey and stuttery..
My mate was pissed at DF, Switch games cost a fortune, and they gushed over the Switch ports, said they were impressive..
It would have been an impresive port if the game looked good!!! Dont care how low speced the hardware is, if the game looks like soup, its a shit port.. PS2 games with a HDmi adapter looked better on the tv than doom and witcher..
damn liars ,, what they getting for lieing to people.
Beetween that and photo made bench marks , these guys are loosing it.
