Iron Valiance – Left Unchecked Hoenn Mix (Friday Night Funkin': Hypno's Lullaby)

Once upon a time, there was a trainer who aimed to be the best there ever was. With them, they had a trusty Ralts by their side. The two were inseparable, and in the small amount of time they had gotten to know each other, they had quickly became best friends.

However, one day, they had came across a trainer who challenged them to a battle. A battle that they ended up losing horribly to. The trainer was devastated by the humiliating defeat, and vowed to train even further to prevent such a loss from ever happening again.

But no matter what they did, no matter how hard they tried, and no matter how many Pokémon they caught and battled, it still was never enough. It had begun to take a toll on the trainer’s mental health. The constant battling and training had even broken Ralts to the point where they had become too afraid to even evolve.

The trainer was pushed to their breaking point after yet another loss, and decided to give up on what was once their dream, now turned nightmare. One by one, they released all their Pokémon back into the wilderness, until all that was left was Ralts. They didn’t want to say goodbye to their partner, but they felt it was best for the both of them.

In the years that followed, Ralts had struggled to fend for itself in the wilderness of the region, however, finally gained enough strength after a long while to evolve into Kirlia, and eventually, Gardevoir. When it wasn’t practicing on improving it’s strength, it tirelessly searched for it’s trainer in hopes of finally being reunited with them. But that day never came, and slowly, Gardevoir became increasingly more bitter. Not at the trainer that left it behind, but at the boy who caused the trainer’s downward spiral.

The orange haired boy.

Pico.

If the Embrace Pokémon wasn’t going to find it’s trainer, then it was going to exact its idea of revenge on the boy who ended up tearing the duo apart, no matter the cost.

Gardevoir lured Pico into the depths of the Safari Zone, as he was searching for Boyfriend in there after he had gone missing the last night.

The plan was finally set in motion.

It would finally get to show just how loyal its species were to their trainers.

Friday Night Funkin’ (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN’ and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source[2] donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam.[3] The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron “ninjamuffin99” Taylor, David “PhantomArcade” Brown, Isaac “Kawai Sprite” Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games.[4] The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.

The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.[5][6]

The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020.[7] A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin’: The Full Ass Game is under development.[8]
Friday Night Funkin’ Lullaby is a mod created and directed by Banbuds that revolves around Pokémon creepypastas. The main weeks are inspired by Hypno’s Lullaby, Easter Egg: Snow on Mount Silver, Lost Silver, and Buried Alive; MissingNo. is also present.

There are also several bonus songs that can be bought from the Shop. These are inspired by DISABLED, Strangled Red, Hell Bell, Glitchy Red, and a Jigglypuff image of unknown origin. There are also a few bonus songs based on original material made for the mod.

This mod was released at approximately midnight on Halloween, 2021, while the unfinished V2 Update prematurely released on October 22, 2022.

  1. I'm going to bet that this Gardevoir belongs to Wally and Pico had taken the place of the male player character, Brenden. This would be if Wally had taken a darker path and gave up on his dream unlike in the games. The reason why Gardevoir couldn't find its trainer was due to Wally's illness getting the better of him and him dying as a result of it.
At least that's what I think anyway.

  2. Oh my goodness this is absolutely beautiful! Also thank you for representing my second favorite Pokémon as well! Do you think you could possibly do a safety lullaby version of this where she actually speaks that would be sick

  3. My head canon is that the Gardevoir was caught as a Ralts from Wally from ruby and sapphire in a different timeline where he caught the Ralts before he became a trainer and was still a young boy and he got teased on for having such a weak Pokémon and Ralts always gave him company but one day he could not take it anymore and decided to jump off a building the Ralts then couldn't feel his emotions anymore because he was dead and Ralts tried to search for its trainer but he was gone forever and many years later the Ralts evolved into a Gardevoir coming back to that same building many years later wondering where it's trainer was but it finally gave up hope and became a monster killing the people that bullied Wally and even kidnapping innocent people (aka Pico soon) by stuffing them in a black hole and soon it caught boyfriend and trapped him inside and Pico went searching for him and here we are now

And especially for the music being a bop to listen to like dang and along with that,
I would like to mention that I legit love how well made the little backstory for this is as well.

  5. Oh fuck, it didn't even occur to me that this is a reference to that "Let Me Win" Creepypasta, the one where Wally loses to you and fucking dies from his illness, it's a bit bland in that regard but you did it more than enough justice with this song. well done!
