  1. I really like the last build, ofc it's the highest dps but i really like the fact our damage are all round up, more homogenic.
Just need a control with a build without leg increasing demonbolt damage and demonic sphon.
We can see in this video which build playing siphon is the best but is it the best build overall ?

  2. They need to bake the sac souls element into demon bolt baseline and adjust the talent accordingly. DB should always deal relevant damage based on the amount of demons out. It's DEMONbolt.

  3. The thing is: the whole synergy for demonbolt doesnt matter as the increases are additive, not multiplicative.

Lets say your demonbolt does 100 dmg and you have 2 10% increases to damage. Your total damage would be 100 *(1+[0.1+0.1]) = 120. So the second 10% increase is as valuable as the first.
For multiplicative you would have 100*(1+0.1)*(1+0.1) = 121. So your second increase becomes more valuable than the first with 11 inc dmg instead of 10.

Since the increases are additive, the value for each increase of demonbolt damage has to be evaluated versus the base dmg of demonbolt and thus is static. If you determine now that SacSouls is not worth using versus DeCon, no amount of synergy and increases to demonbolt damage will change that. (Same with power siphon. if DC is better, even Balefire/Decimating Bolt will not make power siphon suddenly stronger than before while from the shadow does increase the value of ps since it allows more demonbolts in the short timespan of from the shadows)

That means the best build is the build that always the best (e.g. DeCon, Grimoire etc.) regardless of legendarys and Balefire must be compared to other legendarys which have actual synergy. If the numbers indicate that 32% increased demonbolt baseline dmg is best, it will be the best regardless of how much increased dmg you have.

TL/DR: Stacking increased demonbolt damage does not make corresponding talents better relative to their counterparts on the same row.

  4. Demo for life! Honestly when it comes to pushing damage numbers for M+ or raids, regardless of what spec is better, I will always play Demo. Why? Because I like playing the spec. Does my damage suck? No because I always find a way to push the best numbers the spec has to offer. Some of people in my guild will question me like "Doesn't Affliction to better damage?" and I'm always reply with "it doesn't matter". Me playing a spec I don't enjoy will not make me play better. Even on live right now Demo feels good to me, playing about with talents and trying out different builds is fun. I want to play a game where I have fun not play a game to min max numbers. And I know what you're thinking… "What a casual". And you are not wrong. I've never been a hardcore player but that doesn't mean me and my guild don't progress. We push Mythic keys and set raid days like everyone else. But we are all playing what we want and having fun. That's what works for us.

  5. so does all of this completely rely on having Decimating Bolt? I ask because:
    1. If that's the case then it's only a matter of time before they nerf it. They clearly don't want any specs to be totally reliant on covenant choice.
    2. I don't necessarily want to play Necro.

Do any of these build stay relatively in the 2.6-2.8k ballpark if you take another covenant and factor in the damage from whatever covenant ability you have?

  6. Demonology has to get away from stupid imps. Talents like inner demons and nether portal need to be baseline as the random demon summons add class identity. Demonology could be so cool with a few changes, but impology is a more accurate name, and imps are not cool or fun.

  7. I'll be so bummed if demon is FOTM. I want my warlock to feel powerful, not a bunch of minions it spawns. Demon has been kind of a lame spec since they dropped meta and gave it to DH.

  8. I love this. A new build that works really well by making the specc work together with the borrowed power instead of just getting a new borrowed spell that hits like a truck.

  9. 6:17 Are you sure that these bonuses stack additively? The fact that you are willing to hold decimating bolt for power siphon & vice versa suggests otherwise.

I did a quick test on pre-patch and at first glance it seems multiplicative (I tested PS+FtS & PS + SS).

And if they do indeed stack additively and not multiplicatively, then I would agree with another comment that speaking of a huge "synergy" is quite misleading: there's only a marginal synergy with PS offering more demonbolt casts that will improve the value of other things buffing demonbolt (and not even to decimating bolt, since it cannot benefit from those added casts), but nothing spectacular.

  10. i Dont understand why infernal for destro is instant cast while summon tyrant is 1.7sec cast, on top of that it has to cast the bolts. Also I was thinking of a way to fix the AI of the Tyrant, instead of having a cast time of 1 sec (i am not sure how much) it should have a CD of 1sec and making the demofire instant. So when in pvp or M+ the tyrant is not so useless while moving
