  1. I'm 19, and started playing WoW on classic launch. Played retail since but it just doesn't have that same open world RPG feel that classic has. In classic the world feels so huge and it feels like an adventure every new zone you discover. While leveling in retail the world just felt like a big LFG waiting room tbh.

  2. It’s funny the negatives of wow classic you say are the positives , we don’t like cinematic rubbish ! Don’t do that just get outta here ! Classic wow is the game for mmo , retail is garbage and a different game

  3. I say classic is overall way better for new players. A female friend of my started playing classic with me and is still going slowly, i tried showing her retail but she said it sucks its way to “kid like”… shes 19 btw. Atm she is playing a warlock o classic and is lvl 43

  4. I feel like you sort of overgeneralized. Because I played retail pretty much every day. When I heard the announcement for classic I get pretty excited because I was nostalgic as well. And I drastically prefer classic World of Warcraft over retail because the game has more of a soul. Me and my rotten guild really do talk shit about retail (sometimes) besides literally two people. We all stopped playing retail and went purely into classic… yeah the animations and quality of life changes are more advanced. But we play Classic because of the community. And MMOs are nothing but hollow and soulless money grabbing casino machines if there isn’t a community behind it. I like to play a game where gold has value, where I have to make connections with people to progress in the game. And where I can target pieces of gear I want to earn. Now granted both versions of the game had their issues… but for anyone to say that retail is inherently “better” is just lying to themselves. What makes a game good? I personally think the mark of a good game is one that makes you want to come back to play it on your own accord. Without having to add in daily or weekly rewards for doing things constantly. And one thing I’ve noticed is that when I was playing in BFA, I played alliance and loved the expansion… with a few minor complaints about how idiotic the gearing was and the constant push by the devs and players to keep playing every day so you don’t fall behind on the power grind. But,… being an alliance player since 2005. When classic came out I wanted to play the other half of the game I never played and decided to roll horde… and OMG I’ve never had so much fun in any game in my life. I believe I have only missed 3 days of playing in classic since the game launched and I’ve loved every minute of it. I have a ton of fun earning my gear, making friends every day, open world pvp, meme-ing with guildies, raiding, farming, helping people with quests or attunes… etc. classic let’s me gain my own power through the amount of time I put into it. Every choice seems meaningful. Now it’s not for everyone…. like you said people with short attention spans probably won’t stick with classic. But a return to form when games were made with a passion for making them fun… and very little in mind of making profit. Classic is originally from an era where the philosophy was that if they made a fun game… it would be profitable. Not “how can we make players come back constantly to keep a subscription going and to buy in game gold to maximize profits?”

  5. @MetaGoblin 10:18 I'm guessing you didn't see the Q3 earnings report stating that Classic Wow increased subs more than ever
Also, per month, Classic averaged well over 3 million warcraft logs during late MC & BWL, with retail only logging a few hundred thousand per month. (Can't compare AQ since BFA was pretty much over by then)

  6. Have to agree that retail is more Newbie friendly, it's just vastly more polished – I also agree that retail is a good game, however it has a few fundamental flaws which unfortunately have ruined it for me over several expansions. I firmly and only play classic at the moment, and won't be buying SL (First expansion I've not bought) – But vanilla is not it's best past version IMO – This is just setting up for better expansions that will continue to generate more traction, meanwhile retail… I think it's reasonable to say it will continue to decline as it has been for years, especially when classic starts to launch it's most loved and popular expansions.

  7. Well classic made subs go up with 222% so thats 122% classic vs. 100% retail. Some probably left Classic, but many will leave Systemlands once they find out, that in retail, you only play the latest patch.

  8. I played Wow at Legion expansion but it left the game until classic lunched and now I cant leave classic . I love it , the good Graphic or voice acting lose its power after a week but after that the community and social aspect of the game shines.Classic wow is second life.

  9. even dungeons in retail are more exciting than raids in classic i came back to classic after 6 mouths and done aq40 my guild killed cthun like it was nothing and fucking consumables and world buffes no dual talent so im forced to pay for changing my talents for healing in raids as dis priest and doing pug bgs as shadow. lvling an alt is a pain in ass in classic and almost you dont have any activity other than raiding and maybe doing some bgs compare to retail and most importantly really really shity racial balance in classic wow that almost cuz some classes to be not viable for alliance . stun and fear are some of the most important CCs in the classic that are easily counter by hord racials and i think i dont need to even talk about pvp ranking system in classic

  10. Retail IMHO. Classic is tainted by the retail attitude as well as shit design. Nobody wants to like a class, say Paladin, only to find you are pigeonholed into a certain role and face vehement backlash for daring to not slavishly follow the meta. At least retail, for all its flaws, is an evolved game. Classic is a 15 year old game with a modern playerbase that has corrupted everything it was about.

  11. Great video man, you always make some solid content. If you like join my discord I’m rallying all the top creators for classic and TBC. You will be given Creator permission level. And it’s a great way to build a community where we have many of the great minds to talk and share ideas together. Staysafe, Solheim and few other big names have join and would love for you too also. https://discord.gg/2w38Szf

  12. Played wow since the start of vanilla in EU so for about 16 years atm, and would say Retail is alot better for new players. Only a classic Andy would recommend Classic above Retail.

Both games is good in their own way, but for the newer generation Retail is far superior.

  13. I loved my time in Classic WoW spent 500+ hours in it, got a character to level 60 and had a few alts around 40 ish. When everyone was levelling up during the first 2 or 3 months it was brilliant & even tho levelling is a huge grind fest it was really engaging with how populated the servers and community was. Got my epic mount and it really felt amazing, like i had worked hard to get it, but honestly i hated raids in classic they were so boring, i enjoyed doing 5 man dungeons but its now spam in chat for 30 mins – 1hour to even get a dungeon going. So now im just waiting for TBC and then hopefully Wrath. I think Classic has been a great trip down memory lane but even if TBC classic comes out ill prob play it to level 70 and maybe grind out a mount and then feel satisfied, because classic legit has an end point and so will TBC classic i think its more of a you play for a bit till you are done and move on type of game rather than a game you will play for years and years

  14. If you don't read the quest texts the first time through classic I don't know what to think of you. Also you're assuming that new players will know what Questie is and be able to install it.
