Is it worth it? || Outriders First Impressions

So after the recent release of the Outriders Demo, we’ve now had a chance to have a small taste of what the game has to offer.

Now I’ll be the first to admit, my expectations were pretty low, especially when you consider the games that have been released over the last couple of years…but, still… I was cautiously optimistic.
However, after trying this both co-op AND single player, and putting quite a few hours into it – I was actually surprised!

Though it’s certainly no game of the year, not by a long shot, what it does do…it does well!

This obviously isn’t my usual style of video, but I fancied mixing things up…and for those who care, I’ll be giving my thoughts around Outriders, and what we’ve seen so far.

I won’t just be talking about the gameplay, but also my particular area of interest…the story.

But lets face it, even the best story in the world needs some decent gameplay in order to keep you going…so lets start with that.

  1. I'm so glad you put up this video I love hearing your feedback!!! I just downloaded the demo after flip-flopping on it for a while. I'm going to try it this weekend and see how I feel cuz I normally don't like Sci-Fi games so we'll see how this goes.

  2. I’m so excited for this. I’ll add to this comment after watching the entire thing. Let’s goooooo

Great way to explain the classes in this game. I am one to love the lore in a game. I did skip cutscenes as well because some of them were short and held no substance

  3. ya, Assault type weapons are quite weak compared to Shotgun and Rifle type weapons but mostly because we don't have access to the Assault Weapon Passive skill yet. If we examine the skill tree the Gunplay focus and skill based focus gameplay style really won't start to show their difference until players begin passing the 3rd node on the skill tree which we can't do until full game since that is lvl 9+ area of content.

  4. I played the demo and… In almost all aspects it reminds me of a game that could have come out in the early 2000's. What I mean by that is that it has a very arcade vibe to it. Fast, jerky, explosions. Over the top vulgar voice acting, shallow depth. But somehow it manages to be entertaining. It's almost confusing if you think about it, it dose none of the things we praise in modern gaming very well but somehow still ends up being fun. Makes you think.

  5. The game knows exactly what it is and knows exactly who it's core audience is going to be. And in this age where suddenly Assassins creed is an RPG and every game spreads its self so thin to pander to everyon that's an amazing feat.

  6. Sadly can't agree on that one – played the demo and it felt pretty bad, then went to play some more Division 2 and in comparison Outriders felt even worse.
Player controls is pure trash, skills are underwhelming, gunplay is boring without any recoil, design is generic at best – like Destiny at home.
And considering that they insisted on our being a demo, not a beta we are to assume it'll release in this state.
Feels like a game to get in a year or so with 60-70% discount and some improvements made along the way

  7. I kind of did enjoy outriders even though parts of it were worse than I hoped I was definitely impressed by the gear system however I also downloaded a Warframe and within the first 5 minutes of playing Warframe I'm immediately interested in that game and kind of don't really care about outriders as much

  8. So far I really enjoy the game, i was very impressed to see the devs actually worked on an update for the demo so I see their passion already which is good, my only main problem is the controls on controller are very very wonky and delayed , I feel like on mouse and keyboard it would be much more responsive, they need to add deadzone adjustments for the sticks and make the aiming and camera look sensitivity more responsive cause I feel a massive delay , cover system is good but same thing happens to me, doesn't get into cover sometimes but other than that I am impressed ,thanks for the video mate!

  9. This game isnt about the guns. It's about the skills and the cover system is designed for the enemies, not you. Even with technomancer you should be in the enemies face with your turret up to heal you.

  10. IDK if I'm going to get it. I keep getting frustrated with it because I don't know how to play it properly. The main I was using is Technomancer. I wasn't playing it as intended and was just getting wrecked in solo. IDK as I said; maybe I just have to spend more time with the other classes and find which on best suite me. But this game isn't high on my anticipation list. After Cyberpunk, nothing is.
