Is Outriders Any Good? My Honest First Impressions

As a fan of looter shooters (SHLOOTERS?) I’ve been keeping an eye on Outriders. Now that we got a chance to play the game, is it any good? Today I cover what I liked, and didn’t, from my time with Outriders.

I stream too https://www.twitch.tv/forcegaming

Outriders is an upcoming third person RPG Looter Shooter that’s gotten a lot of early comparisons to titles like Destiny, Division, Warframe or Remnant From The Ashes.

The game features 4 classes with unique skills, passives, and playstyles. Plenty of gear to collect as you chase certain stats, traits, and rarities. A wide variety of locations to explore, monsters and bosses to fight. Scaling difficulty progression via world tier system. Character customization. And a fully voiced story campaign.

After spending a little over 10 hours of hands on time with the game, I’ve come away a little less enthused, but still liking many of the core elements of the game.

  1. i do hope modern game stop with the whole "removed headgear during cutscene" thing, one thing if it in safe zone but Outrider does it to even casual cutscene , like when he slide down the rope or jump across the broken path. At least have an option to toggle it on/off.

  2. About the Technomancer deployable skills, like the Proxi-mine, turret, you can hold the skill button, then there's a hud that show off where your gadget will land.
Tapping the skill button is more like fast throw.

  3. Playing as the tank class makes you realize god awful the melee system is. Sure you can easily melee things, but half the time you are just meleeing the air and doig dame to someone not even on the screen.

  4. Sold me when you actually got to fight to heal! Fk this destiny & division 2 trash, they've taken years to get their games right & still want money, I have no expectations on this game except for giving it a solid chance.

  5. Felt the same way but like you said still, very much looking forward to Outriders. You should definitely check out Remnant From the Ashes like you mentioned at the end – it doesn't have the cover system which makes movement a big deal. It's one of the best of 2019!

  6. I enjoyed the game and as far as trying to butcher a 3 hour demo i cant do that with any good feeling because we didn't get enough for the demo to get a deep dive into the game. But for what we had it was amazing and different in the aspect that you are forced to actually use not only just your weapons but your skills and i do appreciate that horde system as in when you fight you fight a horde of enemies. I wish everyone would stop trying to complain about a demo of a game i mean its a demo lol its not suppose to be a final product, the game is good and i can tell the grind is going to be fun and the voice acting is actually good
