If it's the best weapon for your favorite character then it's always worth the summon no matter how specific that weapon is, just like it's worth using the crown on them. Because you'll use that character for a very long time even if there will be changes in meta. After all the most important thing is to have fun while playing the game.

Sadly staff of homa is the best spear atm it powercreeped every single spear even without trigering the 50%hp passive and its not specific to niche units like hu tao but to every polearm including cresent pyke physical dps spears(only edges it on total damage including elemental skill and burst but pyke wins on pure basic attacks only) the bonus attack u gain from it very high and its crit damage substat but hey if u have any 5 star spear at all then its not really worth it pulling for staff of homa for only like what 5-20% more damage depending on what 5star polearm u have, unless thats ur goal to get the most damage out of anything then its not worth it even tho u dont really need so much damage.
Only issue is the other featured weapon that came along with it the WalletsGeavestone
Attack main and Attack substat is one of the worst weapons to get the best weapons will always have crit rate/crit damage substats. Its also very forgiving on substats for ur artifacts

I know it's Hutao's signature weapon but it works best for Zhongli coz his attack scales with hp.
With Homa my attack went from 44k ult dmg to 76k ult dmg without food buff, elemental resonance, and character buffs.

That's like 60% attack and 55% crit damage. There's nothing that can easily powercreep a weapon that has like 50% more attack than anything around it's level and even more when the enemy is low, for the whole team

I think the staff of homa will still be good on other characters. There are tons of people who use the staff on xiao. Its not like it's completely hp scaling they made it universal since it gives you extra hp and turns that hp into attack. And the under 50% perk is still nice because for those who can't dodge as well or don't have a shield their carry will probably take enough damage to get there

I am getting the close to the same DMG as Jade Spear with my Homa on my Xaio. Super close. Reason? that substate of crit dmg is pushing my guy over 200% easily. It has been amazing on Xaio also because he is constantly at less than 50% it feels like because of squishy and his HP going down all the time.
