Is There Too Much Healing In The Game? | League of Legends

So far I talked about Untargetability and Stealth in League of Legends and whether or not they’re a problem. So let’s talk about Healing today to tackle the question: is there too much healing in the game?

  1. I quite enjoy and agree with the points brought up except for the abilities all having to make sense lore wise. Like I agree it would be extra cool if it did, but gameplay before lore flavoring always as league is a game first and foremost. I would also actually really like a video dedicated to following up on how effective the healing power creep reduction was as you were kinda mentioning parts of it but mostly ignored it in the video and I feel like that's a very important matter to discuss

  2. Healing is ok, as long as the anti-heal actually f*cking works against it.
I main Kled, anti-heal on his Q + ignite + thornmail + sunfire aegis + chempunk chainsaw. I dominate Irelia in lane. I am 6:0:3 coming from lane, she is 0:5:0, low on CS. She gets a double kill in a drake teamfight and none of my items, none of my CS/ level lead means shit. And thats just a toplaner, then they have some Yone/Yas mid and Samira bot…

So basically, the only thing you can do in this meta is to start playing Kayle/ Kassadin mid and play for the highest DPS, so that they don't have time to heal or I don't know. As a toplaner I am giving up… tanks are beating the shit out of me, because of reasons. Squishy shit-champs are both out-damaging me and out-sustaining me in 1v1 fights even though I am ahead in levels and items…

Then they release 1 toplaner yearly and its such fucking shit and isn't even played in top lane mostly. Meanwhile every other role get super interesting champs, ideal for some master expression, we get fuckin Sett… then year nothing and boom bullshit Gwen, I am disguisted just to play her, but anyway, most people play her jungle/ mid…

  3. + What the fuck am I supposed to do against healing mages? (Gwen/ Sylas…) They have mostly an AP team comb, so I don't want to build Bramble vest/ Thornmail, but I need to build tanky, and not Mortal reminder/ Chempunk chainsaw. But there is no Magic resist + antiheal item…

  4. Lifesteal items should have more lifesteal than they currently have (thos at 10% should be 12, those at 12 should be 15)

    BUT

lifesteal should be a unique passive. You shouldnt be able to buy both shieldbow and bloodthirster.

  5. My main issue with healing is that it can make certain matchups feel absolutely HOPELESS. I remember the last time I played clash, we fought a mundo (before the rework) top and a yuumi bot. Their jungle camped the mundo to make sure he was ahead, and yuumi is yuumi. With 4 of us having fully built gievious items and pen items, we still could not get mundo below like 75% hp. meaning we couldnt get him below the half-health threshold for 60% griev to take effect. He was essentially invincible for the full duration of his ult if he had yuumi on him. Yuumi never had to hop off because she only had to heal him like 3 times before he killed everyone. Mundo is super easy to play. So it was a no-brain strat that we had no counterplay to and it felt fucking hopeless. That exact match is why I want yuumi removed from the game and why I dont play clash anymore.

  6. I feel like the issue is less that there is to much healing, I feel more, like there are not enough counters to self heals. I think Grievious wounds should affect self heal and healing champs differently, and maybe in someway stack, so if you have 5 players applying them on one Yone, he has like 90% reduced regen instead of the normal 40/60 % becouse I don´t feel like it´s working right now.

  7. calling the game 'more fast pace' seems like a poor description. more accurately it is more spam oriented, the games average longer then the first 5 seasons simply because items only provide 1 thing which is the current seasons streamlined trait although doing this means you need more gold and more items or having a perfect game. another comment to be made would be on fiddle W, the sheer number of people who heard it was aoe and just laughed was silly since they reworked him into a state that had to be nerfed into the ground for obvious reasons. imagine being the head of reworking a champion, thinking something is a good idea, asking 1 person would literally solve the question of is it a good idea.

  8. This is just an opinion, feel free to disagree, but i just feel like anti-healing is not very useful this patch? Unless you buy it very early against your enemy laner it's more convenient to just buy another item

  9. healing not balanced because there's no widely available AP version for mages Riftmaker omnivamp is like the best thing whereas all other roles can get healing on a second item and not a mythic. If they give an AP legendary lifestyle item they'll be some fairness but it'll have to obviously be lower at healing than AD items since mages can do mad burst . Consider a Zoe E-R-Qs the healing from that amount of burst would be insane so the math would have to balance out the amount of burst while making it good enough that mages can use it reliably

  10. Lifesteals are the issue. Back when I started in S1, healing wasn't a major issue unless particular champs got overtuned. The reason greivous wound items weren't strong back then was cause they didn't need to be. There were only a small number of what you could call "drain tanks". So the only time you had to buy them, if at all, was if a single drain tank on the enemy team got ahead or they stacked multiple healing champs.

Today? It's a mandatory buy. There is not a single game where some form of healing debuff isn't bought. Everyone heals a ton even if their kit doesn't have it built in. There is so much excess of lifesteals that even with items like thorn mail, champs can still easily continue to have massive healing.

That coupled with the absurd amount of overloaded kit riot keeps putting out? Healing is horridly overtuned. Any champ today can become a better drain tank than s1 Warwick, Mundo, and even Vlad. Remember, vlads healing with will of the ancients was so strong that riot outright removed the item. Today? Riot gives healing items and runes out like it doesn't matter.

  11. Thumbnail gives the impression as if you are here to roast the champions who are designed to heal others, instead of the items, runes and built-in healing that is added to newer champions which are the main problem in this topic. Not sure if you will be up to updating it, but it surely can improve the clarity.

  12. If riot cared about actually improving the overall game instead of trying to appease junglers and support mains, they would readily cut down the healing from the jungle and take away all the excess heals and shields on support items.

  13. Yeah man I love it when im playing jhin against samira and I just loose cause she aquired 900 gold. Dont get me wrong I understand counter picks samira does 2 things that jhin dosent like she can block 2 of his 4 bullets and she can get on top of jhin which he dosent like. But I should still be able to win against my counterpicks if I play good enough. Instead even if I take a good trade against samira she just heals back to full up off of one minon wave and now its no longer a good trade cause all the damage I did dissapeared and all the damage she did is still missing from my hp bar. I feel like lifesteal should not be the pure cause for 1 champ winning a prolonged skirmish with another champ its just unfair.

  14. Vladimir cheesing lane by healing? Did I miss a memo last season or something? I don't remember Xerath or Vel'koz lanes being any easier regardless of his 80 healing every 10 seconds

  15. For me healing is problematic when in lategame your only option to kill someone is to somehow burst 3k damage in a second and if that doesn't happen, poof. full hp again

  16. I think there is too much, as a Rengar player i see people getting away only bcs of their insane heals way too often.
Lets e.g. look at Yasuo and Yone (because they are basically one champ), if you attack them there are 2 outcomes, 1. he didnt buy too many shields and you can os him 2. you cant os him, he rightclicks you and heals 1k per sec while killing you with 3 autos.

  17. You should make a video about counterplay and if it is healthy for the game because if there is a fight with adc against assassin and the assassin counters the adc but the adc can spend 300 gold to counter the assassin but the assassin cant buy anything to make the triangle work again it seems like it should just be the normal triangle

  18. 10% Lifesteal at 900 gold= 1k hp from killing a minion wave. It's only balanced at all ins. Mages don't have realistic spell vamp options to buy. Unfair advantage to the likes of yasuo ect. It's HP scaling with Damage items.

  19. I think anti heal should be removed or changed
Healing should be exclusiv to champions who have it as a part of their main kit like aatrox or soraka and should be properly balanced as such to be powerful but not op
And finally any items that grant self healing should be removed or heavily changed to be less overall op
That way you wouldn't have yasuo full healing with every q, you wouldn't be countered by a single item as aatrox or soraka and overall teamwork would be improved, as usually only one player per team could heal

  20. my main problem is its devaluing champions like soraka now it use to be a good idea to have a nami or soraka but sinch everyone heals 40% max hp in one hit its not cost effectiv
it also removes the counter play from bot lanes supports like healer beats CC CCbeats poke and poke beats healers now its more cc or poke becourse you can't out heal a auto anyway and the rescurses usege is NEVER worth it yummi is like 20% of her mana soraka takes her owen life and need to put her self in danger to heal nami still way to high mana use elsh it costs a ulti to do it and even then its less then if a ADC just hit a minion
then there is the poke type of playstile but it don't really matters after the first item so whats the point there

also i kinda fells like sylas sould get mana back not HP makes more sens he steals enegy after all not there blood hes not vlad

  21. Correct answer. There is too much available healing through items and runes. These need go be nerfed hard so not every champion can just survive through damage. On the flip side, champions which heal or use healing to be tanky shouldn't get gimped by people paying 800 gold to ruin them.

  22. About healing items that makes champs a 1v5 machine it should be like it's stacking like it's healing is so garbage at the beginning then stack it so it should be one of your first items but you will lack damage but slayers will not see it as a problem then a lifesteal where it only works if your hp is low and has cooldown like what they say in the comments it is also good so poke champs can harass and since the healing only works when their hp is low if they can't get close to the poke champ in time they die so slayers won't be that broken anymore
