Is Valorant ACTUALLY Pay To Win?

The fact is, people seem to really love Valorant.

It offers players a much more digestible introduction into the tactical FPS genre than, say, Counter-Strike.

But, just like most games, Valorant is filled with various cosmetic microtransactions. From player cards, to gun buddies, and even gun skins, players are able to express themselves in a number of different ways.

But there’s something odd about Valorant’s gun skins in particular. You see, for some weird reason, the community thinks that they’re pay to win.

So why is it that so many pro players, content creators and even casual players, all agree on this point? Hell, even Valorant’s devs are playing along, but is there any truth behind this ridiculous claim?

  2. Valorant in my mind is pay to win because if you see your favorite content creators or any of that such playing with that skin and hitting really nice shots it tricks your brain into thinking oh this skin is pay to win but I am not sure at all. I think its just boosting your confidence thats all I think it is.

  3. I can confirm that the sound makes big difference. For example I've been playing from start with defaults and almost all the time when I pick up any skin and hear different sound I'm always surprised and in that time I usually die.

  4. I play on a dogshit monitor so I literally cannot see the phantom's bullet tracers if its default skin. Its really hard to spray with the phantom , even harder than the vandal for me so….I guess its p2w?

  5. Oh yeah, not to mention. I usually play in solo queue. Getting great team makes you win. Borrowing skins from the randomest teammate and it somehow builds a relationship. Oh yeah I play in low ELO rank.

  6. Hear me out. Valorants spray past the first couple bullets is RNG. When a skin is released they minimize the RNG for that skin so when you pick it up you feel better. Then tune back to normal. Rinse and repeat.
