Today we’re talking about the new norm for new patches in Escape from Tarkov, as well as some new changes from yesterday of which we are going to start with.

Since BSG implemented the RMT counter change they’ve been making small tweaks here and there to the limits of what you can and can’t drop to your friends. They must like what they’ve seen since yesterday they removed a lot of the limits of what you can carry on you in raid, things like graphics cards, bitcoins and total amount of physical cash. These limits on items were an earlier attempt at slowing down RMT while this newest attempt completely removes the ability to drop those items so there’s no longer a reason to limit them so much. Granted there are still limits on some items but they’re not as bad as before. I believe the reason behind not removing all carry limits is to stop cheaters from loading up on these items every raid and slowing them down more. Remember that the more things we put in place to slow down the cheaters the more annoying it gets for them and the more likely it will become that they will stop. That’s the theory at least but it seems to be working for now we’ll have to wait and see.

Although I do sometimes get a hand from BSG and occasionally get to talk to Nikita or other members of the team, I do not work for BSG. I also work entirely off public information and past experiences of working in game dev myself, as well as following this game closely for several years. Unless I state very clearly otherwise, the information you’re about to hear should be taken as speculation. You can either get no information or speculation, that’s all we have to go off of these days unfortunately which is why it’s easier to just say Thursday whenever anyone asks for dates. If you want hard facts and dates you won’t get them, period.

  1. I really do not understand why everyone is saying wipe will happen, they’ve said that they will NOT wipe before the new rogue patch. So unless they don’t patch they won’t wipe.

  2. So if nikita knows thers is less cheater … it means he knows who is cheating… WHY DONT YOU JUST BAN THEM? instead of making their life just a bit more complicated…. or He has no idea about the cheating situation and he just b.s to justify the move…

  3. Devs are crafting the game to fit their desired vision. We may get used to the version that's being played, but the vision path and end goal of the devs may be very distant. Life of a game/product developer.

  4. Its annoying to think that the lighthouse expansion is all we will be getting for the next wipe.
    Me personally am gonna take a break from tarkov till streets comes.

  5. Just a reminder that Lighthouse expansion was originally due Q1 2022. We are now entering Q3 in a couple weeks. This isn't some 5D chess move by BSG, there are still developmental issues happening.

  6. Nikita dosnt understand the more he makes it difficult for cheater the easier for them to make money selling stuff is as it rises prices dosnt annoy them just helps them even more

  7. The "gib wipe" part of the community is easily the most irritating.
    They start demanding a wipe not even half way through the cycle, then half the content creators start doing "wipe soon?!?!???!!" Videos.


  8. From my understanding wipes are only supposed to happen when the devs make a fundamental change to the game, like armour hit-boxes or when they start interconnecting the maps.
    Adding a new map, a new trader or setting of a series of events is about keeping us engaged more than it leading up to a wipe.

  9. 3 shit events in the spam of a month and this is what you get from it? like the past 2-3 years when we get daily events for a week straight it points out wipe how is that so fucking hard for people to understand.

  10. I still don't like the RMT fix but i get why it had to be done and have faife that one day when we get clan based systems it just makes me forget about this in anyway

  11. This is exactly what I suggested them, to copy in a certain way the job of Frontier Development for ED, so to align what happens in the game (real world of development) with events that are predesigned to actually support what is happening and never killing the immersion.
    Glad that there are human reasonable people at BSG. Unfortunately in forums is full of QUAQUARAQUA everywhere that have ZERO understanding of how to keep going a cultural project, as a videogame community is. (Art).
    I suggested them many things, and I saw also these things being implemented. I have seen the same in other companies but with a much slower rate, simply because these others have ended up just relying on "DLC MTX expansion" marketing BS selling skins instead of selling a game with mechanics. I hope BSG will not give up until the game is really deep at least with a few animations and mecahnics that expand the game off the raids and in raid. (carrying wounded, carrying the dead, extraction like in Overkill's The Walking dead EXTRACTION (it was amazing despite the game failed – You can see it here even if it's not fully animated but in a beta testing I did it was.. (the driver came out and stuff hearing a voice over is great…) – https://youtu.be/G_oEWfCwF3E?t=325), healing anyone, gathering documents to give back to UN for civs mourning, Expansion of beds in Safe house, having an account that mirrors the player and indeed a personalizable SUb clanfaction, having a sort of account training skill instead of an avatar, permeadeath of the avatars of course, having chance to buy PMCs at max level 36, having max level being 66 and in this level the avatar fully has a mirroring of the "house"account skills.
    Having a vaulting animation, having ability to throw the backpack on the other side of a obstacle that cannot be passed by "climbingvaulting" realistically.. simple stuff that makes the game strategical and tactical as it should be (right?)
    You can retire the pmc or even let go the scav (if you survive a raidrun)…
    Having chance to go inside (offline – Shoot house with a team mate and just train in cqb tactics or even enter a map like factory or a "new small map" to train to different situations:

    extraction, sniping, cqb etc.. without being into the game but make it credible and connected to the safehouse… "not loading a map" which kind of instead kill the immersion.
    Having a green house inside the safehouse too: actually allowing to SLOWLY grow food (not line in Dayz: too fast)… make it "coordinated" with the speed of the game 7 minutes = 1h = it takes days to grow stuff.. Etc-
    I suggested tons of stuff, it can be found in the official forums since 4 years…
