It's Over! New Shadowlands PvP Gear System & Vendor Overview

The final update to the new Shadowlands PvP Gear & Vendor System has finally happened. Because of all of the feedback, Blizzard has completely reworked the gearing system for PvP, and I believe it will have a significant impact on player participation in Battlegrounds, Rated Battlegrounds, and Arena. Players can expect to earn the best gear through rated PvP, and will have a much easier time when trying to gear up new alts and characters. Thank you all for your support over the past couple of months. It truly means the world to me. It is because of this amazing community that we were able to see such change this late into the Shadowlands Beta. Also, thank you Venruki and Asmongold for supporting my videos and spreading the word!

  1. Stoopz I am so fucking proud of you man. TBH I was kind of .. meh.. not excited for SL… but now.. I AM FUCKING HYPED. AND WE OWE IT ALL TO YOU MY FRIEND. You were the only one who stepped up and made noise about the pvp gearing issue. WE FUCKING LOVE YOU BRO, GOD BLESS.

WHERE IS THE STOOPZ NPC BLIZZARD? WERE ALL WAITING?

  2. So Stoopz, does that mean, if i want to play high rated arena (gladiator and above), and be really competitive, i dont need to do any raiding for gear? I just can completly concentrate on bg‘s and arenas if i want to do ONLY pvp an be competitive? Maybe dungeons for the first 2 weeks for some gear?

  3. I have a little pinch of salt. Expansion ago they thought pvp vendor is too hard to find and now they give us 2 pvp vendors, 2 separate upgrade systems, 2 currencys. It looks confusing especially to returning players. Second thing is obvious push for rated content. I would love if we just could get bg gear with higher ilvl. Its unfair how long we have to farm it and ilvl is shitty.

  4. As someone that wants to be better at PvP but felt like PvE was a better way to gear. This system has me excited to try PvP a lot more! Some in my guild are really looking forward to this change now. Highest rating Ive had is 1800 in MoP. So Im hoping to do better than that in SL 🙂

  5. Pvp community: makes a system that instantly alienates 70% more casual pvp players
Pvp community: this is the best system evah!
Casual pvpers: I'll… Just do pve or stop playing as I don't deserve better gears I guess…
Pvp community: why is there so few ppl playing pvp blizz? Why are we minority?

You guys crack me up every time

  6. Very good changes for BG/Arena, but I'm a bit pessimistic about rated RBG.
    – It will still work for people playing the FOTM class/spec but for others it will be harder when going into the LFG system. Even with the "YOLO RGB" (admitting there will be zero class/spec/ilvl selection in such groups) there is still the raid creation to go through and there are many reasons not to like it. And let's be honest, the truest and easiest "YOLO RBG" would be a matchmaking system.
    – If you only increase the rewards to incentivize people to get in, new people looking only for the reward might come which will increase the pool of players in the RBG. But at the same time if you cap faster since the reward is increased, these people will come for a shorter amount of time (just enough to cap). In the end I think it will increase the participation in RBG but only during peaks (weekly reset, week-ends), otherwise it will stay dead.
    – Also the incentive reward is satisfying but if it doesn't make rbg less frustrating or more fun people will participate half-heartedly, many problems may rise from that and it might ruin the experience for the others (afks near bases for example).

  7. So, people who only want to PvP will still have to compete with higher item level players unless we can keep up with their ranks? If we fall behind, those with higher rating will have higher gear. So to catch up with those who are naturally better, or have been playing years competitively, will have the advantage of getting better gear and having more skill. Unless of course item level scaling exists in instances PvP, To put the teams on equal footing when fighting when it comes to their gear. So then only skill is the determining factor in whether the team wins, not their gear.

  8. yes Blizzard!! thank you Stoopzz!! I think you've had a major part in all pvp changes this xpac!! I hope it really works and Blizzard notices it!! They don't give pvp new systems or instances (raids/dungeons are main new content) and I get it. What pvp need is semi-balanced classes (no broken or mega-OP classes is enough), gear that comes from pvp (no pve gearing) and some cosmetic rewards for replayability/ incentive to continue doing bgs/arenas.
