Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is probably going to nuke the Warzone map and put a final end to the era of Modern Warfare while forcing some players to choose which game to fit on their hard drive.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 had a massive impact on the Call Of Duty formula by delivering a mil-sim-inspired game. Large maps, a thoughtful attachment system, and the inclusion of vehicles attracted lapsed Battlefield players and gamers who didn’t traditionally enjoy the arcade feel of Call Of Duty. Modern Warfare fans were upset when Cold War took over the season pass, in-game store, and added over 30 Cold War guns into Warzone. Now with Cold War Season 2, Treyarch is taking the series, including Warzone, in a different direction, and it involves a lot of zombies.

In this video we talk about how recent unconfirmed reports say that the Warzone map introduced by Modern Warfare, Verdansk, will finally get nuked sometime in Season 2 to bring it in line with Black Ops Cold War. To make matters even tougher for some Modern Warfare players, the game may no longer fit on a base PS4’s 500 gig hard drive with Cold War also installed. In this video, we talk over the pros and cons of this final switch and check in on how you’re feeling about it.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is now in Season 2 and available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

  1. Activision tryna kill Modern Warfare to get us to buy Cold War. Jokes on them, I already did, the day after the PS5 came out. And I played it for two weeks until it hard crashed my still very scarce system, and I said never again. The story was great, and while the MP can be fun, it is nowhere near in comparison to what MW is. Fuck that weak ass broken ass game. I’m rocking with MW till whatever the next one is.

  2. I never thought I’d like Black Ops more than the Modern Warfare take on COD, but Cold War is really bring back my love for the franchise. I started play COD with the original MW and stopped playing for several years once hit the futuristic phase. I gotta say that while the nostalgia of bringing back MW finally got me back into the franchise, Cold War is making me stick with COD. If I had to play another COD like MW instead of CW, I don’t know if I’d still be playing it nearly as much as I am. I also never reallly had much desire to play Warzone and it’s never clicked with me. Maybe CW taking over the direction of Warzone could get me into it. I really only play COD BR to complete operator challenges. Otherwise, I’d probably rarely touch it. I honestly wish I didn’t have to at the moment for these challenges. I never played Blackout, so I don’t know if that take on BR is something I’d even like to play.

  3. If activision keeps pushing players to Cold War, their going to push players away from COD games in general, the yearly releases are bad enough but if activision is consistently trying to retroactively ruin every game to sell the next one then there will be no point at all to buy a COD game at all because they are all on a time limit.
Don’t forget that they also want those micro transaction purchases which were all ready becoming a worthless investment, this will be long term damage for an attempt to get short term gains with Cold War.

  4. Let's be frank. Modern Warfare is a great game but had numerous bugs that were never addressed, some which were fixed and then broken again in future updates, and rampant cheating which the developer basically has had players address via in game reporting. Should we support developers that support their games poorly, and who then intentionally hobble their game when they release a new title? No, we should not.

  5. I don't want it to end. Cold war is not what I like. MW is. I would easily play that game another year and pay for it. I don't get why Activision don't wants my money because I won't pay for cold war. It's for different players.

  6. this video is dumb. treyark takin over warzone was always part of the plan. when modern warfare 2 comes out then warzone will be more like that. whatever cod is out at the time that developer does warzone,
