  1. 5:53 Your reflexes and assault are both at level 5. You won't get any more assault XP unless you put another point into reflexes. Check your intelligence attribute; same thing there too. All attributes put a cap on how high your underlying skills can level up. Some skills level up very fast, so you need to check often if they are capped by their governing attributes. Skill leveling yields pretty significant rewards like +carry weight, +health regen, etc. So if you can't level up skills it's a problem.

  2. I would actually reconsider the side stuff. Yeah, you don't need to do a lot with the cops and stuff, but I've found a lot of the side story arcs to be more interesting than the initial story. Especially all the stuff with Judy, Panam, River, Claire and Johnny. I know the Judy and Panam stories start as primary missions, then continue as side missions. You contact River in a mission where you do PI work for a political candidate's wife. The River arc gets pretty dark as well. Anyway, don't mean to ramble, but the side missions (not so much the gigs or hustles) are pretty integral to the main story in several ways.

  3. Couple things:
When it comes to exploring the open world, do NOT attempt City Center gigs or fixer jobs at your level. You will he slapped into oblivion. Heywood is hit or miss… can be tough at this point for you. Pacifica as well. Main story you will be fine in all these places, but otherwise, nope. Santa Domingo doable. It will give you a challenge but you will be fine. Japantown is on the level Watson was. The Badlands is 50/50. Some stuff is doable at your level, other stuff is a challenge.

I felt the same way about Quickhacking, but eventually got to a point where it actually became my preferred method of approaching missions. Youre now at the point where you will start seeing better hacks that will allow you to be stealthy and help in combat. System reset will let you knock someone out without alerting anyone (unless the body is seen), suicide… well you can guess what that does. Cyberpyschosis causes an enemy to attack their own. That plus the breach protocol deamons really change it up. Shut down all cameras. Cause optics to turn off when you are about to be spotted. They aren't all meant to be for proper stealth (though in very specific builds, you can effectively never enter a combat state… at the most they will search an area for you).

    My final build was
    18 Body
    20 intelligence
    14 reflexes
    18 tech ability
    6 cool

This was to allowed myself a playstyle that wasn't too far into one or the other, but suited the option to take multiple approaches to a mission, and to allow for proper Cyberware upgrades that benefit me (proper Cyberdeck, health mods, resistance and armor mods).

And yeah I would reccomend taking a detour from the main story… it is rather obnoxious however that the game constantly starts tracking main quests once you finish anything.

As someone else stated, their are side quests that will influence the ending and what is available to you… hell, even something as simple as punching someone (though you may really wanna do more) will actually block you entirely from a store's goods. You will even be given story beats that are not even counted as main quests, even though they are brought up during the main story.

  4. Pretty much every quest that has a yellow marker on the map is worth doing on camera, apart from β€œgigs” and β€œrides” (gigs have very small storylines that are not always worth the amount of gameplay, and rides literally just consist of you walking up to a car and buying it). The blue marker stuff is usually filler though

  5. Side missions should definitely be recorded!
The side missions provide much more immersive stories than the actual main storyline, and really make the game. However, when I say "side missions," I mean the actual missions…so missions that are provided by plot characters that you talk to, or who call you (Johnny, Judy, Takemura, others you will meet). The things that I WOULDN'T bother to record are the blue icons (tarot, NCPD missions) and the random side jobs that you see on the map (!)(?).

An easy rule to follow would be to go by your quest journal:
    "Main Jobs" – Record, obviously
"Side Jobs" – Record! (the good stuff)
"Gigs," "Rides," "NCPD Scanner" – Don't Record

  6. I got to not much past this before I decided to put a hold on my recordings. It crashed twice and I lost a lot of footage 😭 I did a few side quests though and I loved them, but I know how restrictive games are with side quests and trying to get out videos. Unless each video is 2 hours long like this one, the game will drag on for months 😡

It's so good to see you enjoying this so much! It's really interesting from this point on for sure.

  7. The beautiful thing of the game, when everything works, is, that you can play it however you want to. You can be a netrunner with all points in intelligence and tech and hack your way through enemy buildings without ever engaging in combat. You can be all murder hobo by putting your points in the body attributes, pick up a shotgun and inflict mayhem.
You just have to make a decision early and the specialise instead of trying to build an alrounder.

  8. Calling Jackie's mum starts of a great but sad side mission. filled with all sorts of emetions about losing someone close to you . I found it very relatable to a situation not to long ago. It would be awesome to see it in an eposide as from a personal and story perspective it adds something speacil to this game and with picking certain dioluge choices with Mama Welles you can get the perfect memteo to remember Jackie . That no shoes on glicthes is new have not seen that one before odd but not the werdist bug in the game.

  9. Not sure how far into the game you are at this point or if you'll see this comment at all, but just wanted to clear some things about the "side missions" stuff. The ones that are listed as "side missions" are actually quite meaningful and will give you a more full experience. The stuff that are listed as "gigs" are the ones that are more for the purpose of "filler." So I HIGHLY recommend you do the ones that are actually listed as "side missions" because they are related to characters who are involved in the main story and helps gives you a better understanding of those characters. I hope that helps you decide what to chose between when you'll record and what you'll exclude.

  10. That buddist monk insulted me when I rescued him lol, just a heads some enemies in the new areas that you will be going into can one shot kill you, they're level 30, so don't be shocked just keep building you character πŸ‘Œ

  11. The side missions in this game are amazing. The stories are great. Panam, Judy, River off the top of my head. All so good.
The free roam missions are very formulaic though for sure. Save this person, steal this, kill that person. I enjoy them but maybe filming all those would get very repetitive.

I'm playing on base PS4 and having a blast. It doesn't look too good in some parts but eh I kinda expected that. I have barely put the game down since it came out and still haven't quite finished it.

  12. Tech weapon bug is so annoying! Happens to me all the time. Only way I get it to fix is by quicksaving and reloading (I'm on PC). I think some people have had success with swapping gun slots back and forth, doesn't work for me.

  14. Regarding the attribute and perk stuff, upgrading the body and tech ability will help you out with opening certain doors which’ll require β€œ14 tech ability” for example…
But when you go into do perks it says at the bottom left how much youre actually using it, you only get xp for what you use in-game x

  16. I definitely think if you feel so you can keep the Gigs and NCPD side stuff for off-camera. But DEFINITELY make sure you do all SIDE JOBS on camera. The side jobs are just as good as the main story. In fact, I'd more call them extensions of the main story.

  17. Def do/record side jobs (the ones that are under.. well, side jobs, in your journal). They are great and provide lots of stuff about the world, characters etc. On top of that, some of the side jobs may affect the ending more or less so I consider them really important for the story. You can skip gigs and blue icons and do those if you need more levels/street cred etc. though some of the gigs does have nice mini-stories like you said. Some nice little detail: you can call Jackie and now V leaves voice mail for him. He/she leaves a different one when certain things happen in the game.
Also I know there are some… let's say 'issues' with the game on consoles so if they start to affect your enjoyment of the game, it might be better to put the game on-hold, wait for the major patch that's supposed to come this month and then try again. To me the game was amazing and I enjoyed pretty much every second of it (I played on pretty decent PC so I didn't really have any major problems) and it would be a shame if you didn't finish it because you got so frustrated with it.

  18. Nice gameplay! I think next time I'll try female corpo. But as others point out you should do side missions. By the end of the story you'll have loads of them and the story isn't too long tbh
