JK's The Winking Skeever – Skyrim Special Edition Overhaul Mod

Filmed with “Another Solitude” installed, this is a lovely enhancement of The Winking Skeever with a purchasable player apartment.

  2. For homes with nowhere for Inigo to sleep, have you tried Sleeping Bags? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26348 It's a really nice little mod that adds a version of the vanilla bedroll, only, when you/a follower goes to bed, you/they are actually tucked inside, not sleeping on top of the thing! (By default, whoever uses it will take off all their clothes which may not be ideal, especially if you were making a video, but the MCM lets you change that!)

  3. oh by the way, you can install [More Informative Console] to debug stuff. when you select an item on the console on the bottom right it will tell "Ref last changed by" or "Base defined in" so you know which mods things came from

  4. I like the open feel of the new entryway. You know Phat loves his open floor space <3 There's finally room to dance in here! <3 I seldom go for orange. Yet, I do love the brightly colored bunting <3 It simultaneously gives off a peaches in springtime and golden falling leaves in autumn vibe that I rather like very much <3 I love the upstairs balcony level with all the added rooms <3 It lends greatly to the Winking Skeever being an inn as well as a tavern and eatery. However, that wall may have to go if I install this mod. There are a few scripted events added by quest mods that occur precisely where that wall is and the table where those npc's would normally be waiting was moved forward. Those events generally take place at or near the table by the vanilla balcony which is now where that wall resides in the mod. I'd be okay with the wall as long as the target npc's were able to figure out where the wall is and spawn to either side. Yet, my first thought when seeing that wall was a vision of Lissette trapped within the wall… 🙁 The apartment and balcony on the top floor are adorable <3 So, overall I give the new Skeever very high marks for beauty, use of space, brilliant decor and fab design!
Thank you sweet Feb <3 Adventure on, Phat <3
PS: Sah loved your suggestions and raved in her thank you reply <3 Thanks again<3

  5. I love the Jk overhaul mods. The other overhauls that the mod author did for some of the places in Whiterun and the Sleeping Gaint is also amazing. He also did a city overhaul that just makes everything look better and if you run that with the Dawn of Skyrim mod it just gives everything a different look.

  7. My first reaction when you entered the loft: 😲….. Love it. There is actually very little to say. It's definitely the colors that work very well and all the little extra decorations like the bunting, the cushions etc. It actually feels like an inn / tavern for the richer town folk (which is technically everyone in Solitude), a place you want to come in and relax from the hard work of counting coins or doing paper work. 😁

  8. Thanks very much, Feb, and very timely.
I just added JK's Skyrim to my game this very day.
I had been using The Great Cities by Soldierofwar, but had been having bad stutters in Dragonbridge, and the occasional crash.
Then, a few days ago I had a crash while saving my game in Dragonbridge that actually deleted the save file for a character that was over level thirty. I did have some earlier saves, but they were very old so I just began again.
I've always liked JK's mods, but honestly I prefer an even more varied look from Hold to Hold in my game. To me, the variety looks much more natural and organic.

I am looking forward to the new look, and have had JK's Whiterun shop interiors in my game for a bit already, so Bob's your uncle! 😄

  9. It's amazing what a change in palette can do for a place. The Winking Skeever feels a lot cleaner and all around nicer with this. And those little rooms remind me of my old school in a way, being about the size of one particular classroom XD Although those rooms are certainly a lot fancier than that, and probably a lot warmer as well.

  10. Me RPing: “I’m sorry, this is a silly question, but I’m looking for the Winking Skeever. This can’t be it right, because any place called the Winking Skeever must be some run down hole frequented by undesirables. This place looks like the Ritz Elisif.”

  11. The epitome of an excellent penthouse,"Somewhere nice to watch the executions". O….K… haha. A small loft that is Still better than Proudspire(unless of course it is modded). This was nice thanks.

  12. I have just found your channel recently, and I absolutely adore your contents. You run through each and every details in player homes in a nice and relaxing manner. I can actually view these homes like as if I am viewing them myself without having to deal with constantly jumping camera or overly excited or boring voices. Your voice is a perfect fit for this type of contents, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were a real estate agent in real life.

Your channel is now my only go-to channel if I wanted to check out any house mods in Skyrim. Thank you for your wonderful contents and I hope you stay around for a long time.

  13. Hi Feb,
just a few small comments to this lovely mod.
    – for me Corpulus Vinius, the innkeeper, did not have the key for the loft. Why? Because in this mod JK had also changed the NPC and in my load order another NPC-overhaul-mod "removed" the key. So not key – check your load order in SSEEdit (Corpulus Vinius Id: 00013266).
    – the loft is really a player home: you get "well rested" when sleeping.
    – finally a small glitch: when showing you to your (rented) room Vinius runs into the new divider on the upper floor… Takes him some time to navigate around.
