  1. For the PS2 version of Nier…
    There are two versions.
The brother version was the japanese version. Labeled Nier Replicant
Papa nier is the international version. Labeled Nier Gestalt.
They used a much older character as the protagonist in the international version because they thought audiences would warm up more to the father trying to save his daughter than a brother trying to save his sister.

  2. I still haven't made of my mind on the Trails of cold steel series. I loved the first Legend of Heroes game, hated. tails in the sky, but I keep hearing things about Tails of cold steel. Should I miss out on the three Tails of cold steel? It's looking I have no choice since its not on the Xbox platform (I hate gaming on the PC since the move to Windows 10)

I really wish Xbox had more jRPGs like YS and more Tales of games.

I can't find any PS5s so looks like I'll be on Xbox platform. (Getting a Series X was easier)

If I can't find a PS5 by the release of MH Rise, there won't be a point as MH Rise alone should last me 2 years+ after that, it's either enjoy my Xbox or stop gaming until next generation.

I'm looking forward to the next Tales of game. I also hope Square start working on another Octopath like game.

  3. Looking forward to YS IX, Bravely Default 2 and Monster Hunter Rise… Also can someone tell me the name of that game where there are like two girls(vampires?) And there is like a certain time limit or something and you have to complete the game within certain time and then comeback to your hideout (or something like that). It was released on the Switch and the combat looked pretty good but I forgot to buy it and now looking into it and can't remember the name…

  4. Original Nier was a gem but very short, thought Automata was too much of a hack n slash; thinking Replicant will be just right. Also I keep getting the footage of Tales mixed up with Granblue, they look very similar but Tales looks like they've elevated the series a lot more, in my opinion. Hated Atelier before Ryza but loved Ryza 1 & 2 looks even more mechanically interesting, cannot wait for that one. Only thing missing on this list is Ruined King; looks like a direct sequel to Battle Chasers, my personal fav. game of this generation.

  6. The only thing I don’t like about disgaea 6 (I can live with 3d, I liked both mugen souls) it seems that they removed all the multi-hit skills (like Demon Blast, Volcano Blaze, etc.), which really hits the atmosphere for me. Strange reason of course, but I am)

  7. Musou games that use a different IP are theur best works IMO. They always have nice differences in their systems and great fanservice with the attacks, specials, and supers, if they have them.

  8. Having played the original Fate/Extra, I can tell you two things.

    1) The battle system is nothing like grand order, and although it's not one quite like in any other RPG I've ever seen prior or since, it keeps things rolling without being stellar either.

    2) Unless they added significant content (I never played Extra/CCC, so I can't speak of that, though I'd hope the content from that is in Record) in terms of things to do in the game world, I can't recommend the game unless you're a big fan of the Fate franchise. It's got a great story that you could absolutely enjoy without any prior knowledge into the series, but it's kind of an OK game at best. But maybe some fresh polish would dial it up.

  9. As a Nep fan I'd say skip ReVerse unless you never played a neptunia before. It's a remake of a vita game that was a remake of a ps3 game and it still uses ps4 assets on ps5.

Also rune factory is an amazing series, give it a try.

  10. Persona 5 will realistically get one more game, hopefully an Arena game, with P4 and P3 characters. P4 was extremely milked too. I’m sure P6 will be teased in the next 2-3 years.
