The 5 stack problem isn’t even that bad, people that are in immortal would face something like this more often bc of the amount of players that are actually all the way up there in the ranks
I'm at bronze 3 because I failed my 3 placement matches with my other friend. I know plats and diamonds that are worse than me, yet they have their ranks because they queue with capable friends. On the bright side, people think I'm smurfing, which gives me quite the ego boost :).
I'm currently a plat 3/Diamond 1 player solo queue and all too often I get players who do not have the game sense and/or the aim of even a decent gold/plat player. Even some high diamond and low immortal players I've come across play like it's their first fps. Definitely needs a change imo.
easy solution – update the game with pick/ban system – ban raze/killjoy every game = make the game better = profit.
I was in a duo and we played against a 5-stack.(they all had the same banner and they confirmed it). The other people on my team were another duo and a solo. Thankfully the 5-stack was bad and we won but still kinda sucks how when ur duoing you have to play a 5-stack

I think if u play solo u learn how to carry and be soloq player , and this game is mainly teamwork , and playing as stack not so easy as ppl say games are fucking sweaty as hell like scrims if teams skill gaps are same . In my opinion soloq is more easy than 5 man stack in higher ranks like d2-imortal+ , if u are gold or silver 5 man stack is the only way i guess and ye its ez then .
I usually play with at least 1 friend but 70% of the time we are 4 or 5 players that are together in a discord call.
I find it way more fun to play because we can communicate in our language (Slovak or Czech) and we are better because we play together.
So the problem in solo queue is that the ranks are “inflated” from people playing in 5 stacked games. I don’t think that’s true in the last patch they added a feature that 5 stacked games are getting matched against people that have 4 or 5 people in a party. I don’t think this is a problem with the game I think this is a problem with players not communicating well when playing solo.
Also mutes are a problem because Valorant doesn’t have a “play from spawns” “agreement” or when to smoke what mets but that’s just because the game is new and these things didn’t yet develop.
Also the voice command in my opinion are not advertised as an option at all so some people don’t even know they exist
I don't get why every one is mad at the ranking system, this is a 5v5 tac shooter, that means that of course playing with a 5 stack is an advantage, people in a 5 stack can rank up even if they don't have awesome mechanics but really good game sens and team work
for the placement matches in act 1 i got immortal 2 while i actually should've been plat. and no i didn't 5 stack
If valorant would just make a party system for one, shows that other people are partied, but add another game mode for just solo/duo/trio q players, and leave the regular game mode for any stack which will give you a risk of running into a 5 stack, added actual MMR not just some arrows, a top 50 leaderboard (with mmr a top 100 leaderboard down the line just creates inflation so top 50 is a lot harder to get into), oh and rewards would be nice, I would, and other high level players would actually enjoy queuing.
I'm in plat. I shouldnt be in plat. I have the level, the movement, the aim,etc for that rank but you know how I got there? Carried(mostly soloq). I havent been playing good for like 2 weeks but somehow still got into plat again. If me, that Im playing like shit, can get into a rank like that, then you know how much other ranks are inflated by even worse players thanks to carrying,5-stack,pure luck,etc
2:26 that’s good, but the problem is when the golds get boosted to Immortal bc of stacking, and then when they finally do solo they wayyyy under preform and is greatly pulling the team down causing, Acue for example, to lose games.
Gold 3, and when I solo queue I get matched with plat 2s who bottom frag or quit while I end up Match MVP. They have crap aim, don't talk, and don't play as a team. I have yet to have a solo queue match where I feel like my teammates have actually been playing "at" their rank.
This is completely different than when playing with a 5 stack. I am typically #1 or #2 and the games are a lot more even with a little more averaging wins than losses. When we play as a 5 stack and play with one of our silver buddies we typically have to carry him and he drags us down a bit (so more likely to end in a loss)
Can't rank up because trying to solo queue keeps killing any wins I get with a 5 stack, and when we 5 stack and have that 1 silver guy we are more likely to loose.
All to say, the ranked matching is highly inconsistent and solo queuing is atrocious, there should be a different hidden ELO for when you solo vs when you 5 stack, even if they both feed into a similar visual rank.
im a plat 3/diamond 1 player and finding games where your team has absolutely no coordination but the enemy i presumably stacked, optimising utility and executing perfectly is almost 3/4 games recently
I mean the killjoy alarmbot on a head shot angle is scummy but it's a legit strategy that doesn't involve glitches or anything, the only thing wrong with the bot is that it can take 4 hs

All of you guys in the comments are probably silver, when I’m playing with plat3 to diamond level I have people aiming at the ground and running out in the open and not using utility
For me the issue is not that I am facing a 5 stack, rather it is getting solo queue players on my team that are so bad that it is obvious he/she only got to their rank by being carried presumably by a 5 stack team they normally play with. Like its a silver sage that didn't use ult all game. or a cipher that doesn't preset up abilities and then peaks right away as a silver player. I know that isn't high of a rank, but it is high enough that all players at the rank should know the basics
It's ridiculous how if someone of the enemy team gets like 4-17 in a game but win let'ssay a 13-11, over you who got a 15-6 let's say, get up ranked and you get down ranked
